This is my Eleventh Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Machilipatnam in Krishna Dist of Andhra Pradesh. Sai Devotees can go through links placed in the Right Side Bar to view the list of all temples visited by me under the Pilgrimage series.

I was Invited to attend a Opening Ceremony of Spiritual Library to be held at Sri Sai Baba Mandir, Circar Thota in Machilipatnam on 23rd Oct 2011. So I planned to visit some temples in Vijayawada on 21st & 22nd Oct before heading to Machilipatnam. As Planned, I successfully completed my 10th Pilgrimage at Vijayawada covering a total of 14 temples of Sri Sai Baba.

I along with Mrs. Padma Karunakaram started our journey towards Machilipatnam by around 6:30am. After reaching Machilipatnam at 8:30am, we completed our morning breakfast at a hotel nearby the Bus Stand. R R Bhavan hotel, opposite to the Bus stand is a Decent Vegetarian hotel providing good quality food & beverages.

I was curious to visit the very famous Sri Naga Sai Baba mandir at Machilipatnam about which we had previous written articles & published Snaps. When we Inquired at the hotel, we came to know that it is at a distance of less than 200mtrs from the bus stand & one could reach there in minutes. We could also see the Nagabarana (Snake head) of the statue from the hotel. Thus we walked towards the Sri Sai Maharaj Devalayam.

We visited 2 temples at Machilipatnam & this is the 1st temple visited by us during our 11th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at machilipatnam on Sunday, 23rd Oct 2011.

Sri Sai Maharaj Devalayam, Machilipatnam.

Sri Lakshmipuram Vittal Rao the Founder of this temple is a Bank employee working with the State Bank of Hyderabad. He got inspiration to Build a Unique temple of Baba at Machilipatnam.

In 1994, a Property near to the Zilla Court Centre was purchased with donations from Sai Devotees & Foundation stone to build a temple for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was laid.

In 1997, A 7.5ft Height Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba with Abhaya hastam (blessing Right Hand) in standing posture was installed in the now completed temple of Sri Sai Baba. A 5.5ft Cement statue of Sai Baba was installed in the front of this Standing statue of Sai baba & Sai Devotees were allowed to touch & also place flower garlands to Sai Baba.

Work to build the largest Statue of Sai Baba was progressing during this period & in 2007, A 54ft Height & 36ft Wide Cement Statue of Naga Sai Baba was completed & unveiled to all the Sai Devotees of Machilipatnam. In 2007 this was the only tallest statue of Sri Sai Baba to be completed in the World. Sai Baba sitting on Stone Posture with Nagabarana ( 5 headed Snake) above the head was inaugurated. It is designed in front of a 3 storey temple of Sai Baba.

A 4ft Dwarakamai Statue of Sai Baba is also installed in the temple premises near to the main sanctum. A Pancha Loha idol of Sai Baba is also present in front of the main statue & used for Palki Utsav.

Sai Baba Nanda deepa has been installed towards the left at the entrance of the temple with a diya burning day & night. A Dhuni of Sai Baba is also installed to the right at the entrance of the temple. Dhuni Puja Material is sold at the entrance of the temple by street vendors.

Highlights of this temple

Daily Abhishekam is performed to the Main Statue of Sri Sai Baba & Ashtothara shatanamavali Puja/ Archana are performed during the Day time.

On Thursdays the temple is opened between 5:15am till 10:30pm & Sai Devotees from machilipatnam & nearby towns/villages visit Baba to take his blessings.

Sai Chalisa Chanting is done daily after the dhoop aarti to Sai Baba.

Sai Bhajans are performed between 7:00pm - 8:00pm on thursdays. Palki Utsav is performed on thursdays at 8:30pm before the Shej Aarti.

Annadanam is also conducted on every thursdays & 15 Lady Sevak's of the temple prepare meals to around 1500 Sai Devotees. Annadanam is done through out the day on the 1st & 2nd floor of this temple.

On Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi & Dusshera Special Puja, Aarti, Annadanam & Satsangs are performed in the temple premises. A 24hr Bhajan & Satsang program is the highlight during the special Days.

Future Plans in the temple

The 1st & 2nd floor of the temple premises are getting renovated. Meditation Hall & Dining hall with kitchen has been planned in these floors respectively.

A 3 Acre land has been acquired recently during 2008 at Nadupuru, a village around 10kms from Machilipatnam to build & run an Orphanage & an Old Age Home with a Capacity of around 250 members.

Plans to Paint the 54ft Naga Sai Baba Statue with special Water proof material so that the statue can be preserved for at least 500 years are being done.

This is the 14th & Final temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday, 22nd Oct 2011. This is also the 62nd temple visited by me in pilgrimage series on which i'm writing this article about.

I would like to thank my Brother Dr. Chethan Raj for providing me with accomodation & trasportation during my visit to Vijayawada. I would also like to thank Mrs. Padma karunakaram for accompanying me during this entire 10th Pilgrimage & also helping me out in writing the articles with the Data provided by her. I would also like to thank the temple in charge of all the temples covered by me for allowing me to take photograph & also for providing me with the complete details on the temple.

This Sri Shirdi Sai Baba temple is built on S V S Road in labbipet of Vijayawada town. It is a small temple dedicated to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. A 3.5ft Marble statue of Sai Baba showing his Abhaya hastha is installed in this temple. This temple was inaugurated on 07th June 1998. A Dwarakamai with a statue of Baba in sitting posture is also installed to the side of the sanctum.

This temple has been Air Conditioned & if one reads the sign board at the entrance of the temple, it is written as Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram A/C in telugu Language. I don't understand one thing here? why has it been specifically mentioned as A/C temple when almost all Sai Temples in Vijayawada are infact Air Conditioned to beat the Summer Warm Spell.

On Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sri Sai Punyathithi & Thursdays, special Puja's are performed & Thirtha Prasad is distributed in the temple premises. Large gathering of Devotees can been seen on thurdays & saturdays as it is near to the very famous venkateshwara swamy temple in Vijayawada.

On sunday, 23rd October 2011 we went successfully completed our 11th Pilgrimage by visiting 2 temple of Sri shirdi Sai Baba at machilipatnam. I was very Lucky to see the 54ft Naga Sai Temple at Machilipatnam, about which we had previously posted articles in our Sai Photo Blog. Today we are visitng the Sri Datta Sai Mandir at Devi Chowk in Rajahmundry town of Andhra Pradesh. Devi chowk is a Big Business centre in Rajahmundry town & is between Kambala cheruvu lake, Kotipalli Bus stand, Main Bazar and Gokavaram Bus stand. Devi chowk is also famous for its Durga Devi Temple.

This temple is at a distance of 2 kms from Bus Stand & 3 kms from the Railway station. Earlier a Temple dedicated to Sri Rama was built here. As usual, due to the popularity of Sri Sai Baba in Andhra Pradesh, A sanctum for Sri Sai Baba was installed next to the Statue of Sri Rama at the Sri Rama Mandir.

A 3.5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba was brought from Jaipur & has been installed in this temple along with the pancha loha Utsav murthy of Sri Sai Baba.

On every Thursday, Sheerabhishek is performed to Baba. Annadaanam is done after the Madhyan Aarti.

Daily Chanting of Lakshmi Ashtotara Satanamavali & Vishnu Ashtotara Satanamavali is done by ladies from the surrounding area.

Weekly medical camps to old, needy and handicapped are conducted and medicines are distributed free of cost.

Special programs are organised for Sri Rama Navami, Guru pournami, Vijaya Dasami, Sai Punya thithi, Datta Jayanti and Temple Anniversary & are celebrated in a grand way.

Inauguration Ceremony of a New Temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba took place between 17th - 19th of january 2012 at Jattehundi in Mysore dist of Karnataka. Below are the Glimpse of the Baba's Statue & Alankaram.

The quality of the snaps are very poor & this is the only set of snaps received by me from a Sai Devotee in Mysore. Better Quality snaps along with complete details of the temple will be posted shortly.

This is the 13th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

This temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba has been built inside the Usha Cardiac Centre Premises by Dr. Y V Rao at Pitchaiah Street off Bandar Road.

Dr. Y V Rao being a Stanch devotee of Sri Sai Baba felt that a Temple for Sri Sai Baba has to be built in the hospital premises so that the Visitors coming to the hospital may pray & get the blessings of Baba.

So out of personal Interest, a Temple of Baba was built & Inaugurated on 9th Feb 1997 at the entrace of the hospital.

A 3.5ft Marble statue of Sai Baba showing his Abhaya hastha was installed in this very well built sanctum. A Dhuni for Sai Baba is also constructed inside the temple premises.

Daily Abhishekam is performed to Sai Baba & special Sheerabhishekam is performed on Thursday & Special Days.

Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima & Sai Punyathithi are performed in a grand way. Every thursday & Special days Annadanam is performed in the temple after the Madhyan Aarti.

Local Artisans perform Sai Baba bhajans daily between 7:30pm - 09:00pm. This has been organised to help Artisans to practice, Perform & also to provide livelihood to 100's of such artisans singing Sai Baba's Bhajans. This is the initiative taken by Dr. Rao to help artisans support them self.

On the eve of the Temple Anniversary on 8th Feb of every year a 12 hr Nama Sankeerthan is performed from 6pm till 6pm on the anniversary.

The Shej Aarti is performed a little late at 9:45pm & it has been a custom where in every staff in the hospital including the doctor visit Baba for the Shej Aarti & take his blessings.

Though the temple is small & not so popular, it is worth it to see this temple of Sai Baba was the calm & peaceful Abhayahasta Sai Baba. Also the evening Bhajans are quite soothing to hear to. Sai Baba's Sanctum has been well decorated with the Italian Marble & it looks quite interesting too.

This is the 12th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

After taking rest in the afternoon, we once again continued our temple pilgrimage at 5:30 pm & this is the first temple visited by us in the evening. Sri shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram at Ayyanna Naidu Street in Durga Agraharam was built by Ms. Udaya Lakshmi & the Prana Prathistha & Kalas stapana at the temple was peformed on 31st January 2001.

Highlights of this Temple

1. This temple has been built completed as per Temple Agama Shastra (Temple Vastu & Architecture)

2. A 5.5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai baba has been installed in the Air Conditioned Sanctum in this temple. Daily Abhishek is performed with Rose Water after the Kakad Aarti. On Thursdays & Special Days. Milk Abhishekam is performed to the Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba. Devotees engaged regularly with temple activities perform puja & aarti to Sri Sai Baba.

3. Dhuni & Dwarakamai of Sai Baba has been installed in the temple premises.

4. All the Aarti's are vocally Sung in the temple premises instead of playing CD.

5. Sri Rama Navami, Guru Poornima, Dussehra & Sai Punyathithi are performed in a very grand way in this temple.

6. During the Dussehra, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Guru Charitra, Sai Sarcharitra & Gayatri Homam are performed on all Days by Sai Devotees. Both the Meals are provided to Sai Devotees attending programs on all 9 Days of Dussehra.

7. Akhanda Sai Nama Japam is performed for a Whole day from 7am till Shej Aarti on Sai Pujya thithi Day.

8. No Donations are entertained. Money put in the Hundi is opened once in a year & it is used to perform Annadanam during Temple Anniversary on 31st of January.

9. On Anniversary Annadanam program is performed & around 1000+ Sai Devotees attend for the Program & Prasad.

10. Potraits of Saints in Datta Parampara have been displayed in the entrance wall.

11. Potraits of Famous Saint's & Guruji's of India Sri Maha Avatar Babaji, Sri Yogananda, Sri Lahari Mahashaya, Mahesh Yogi & others have been installed behind the sanctum of Sai Baba on the Pradakshina path.

Miracles

1. Purohit felt as if Baba hit him while he was performing Aarti & entered inside the Statue. Due to this Divine Intervention, Purohit was out of his Physical Senses for a period of 3 Days.

2. Omkar used to be heard from the temple Sanction to Sai Devotees performing Pradakshina around Sai Baba.

Today we are going to visit yet another temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh. After visiting the Sai Baba Mandir at Rajendra Nagar, We visited this temple at apparao street.

During 1977, Sri A.V. Apparao constructed Sri Kodanda Ramalayam and Sri Sri Sri Vijaya Kanaka Durga Devi Temple. They used to perform daily puja and rituals the temple. As the popularity of Sai Baba grew immensely & due to the wishes of devotees visiting this temple, A sanctum for Sri Sadguru Sainath was constructed and Baba's statue was installed on 05th Dec 2001.

A 3ft Marble statue of Sri Sai Baba was brought from Jaipur & prana prathistha was performed. Daily Aarti & Special Puja on festivals are performed in this temple. A marble statue of ganeshji & dattatreya along with utsav murthy of Sai Baba are installed along with Sai Baba in this temple premises.

Being near to the main business area, it attracts huge crowds on almost all days. Special puja's are constantly performed on Thursday, Friday & Saturday to Sai Baba, Kanaka Durga & Sri Rama / Hanuman.

This is the 11th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

A Vacant Plot with a Large Banyan & Neem Tree behind Vijetha Hospital on Donakal Road has been recently purchased in 2008 & plans to Construct Sri Sai Shiva Brindavan is underway. As of Now A 1.5ft Statue of Sai Baba along with Black stone statue of Dattatreya Swamy & Sahasra Linga have been installed in this premises below a Make shift Roof.

A Dhuni made of Cast Iron has been installed in front of Sai Baba's sanctum. Sai Baba's Abhishek & Puja are performed regularly in this temple. On Shiva Ratri, Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi & Datta jayanthi Special puja & abhishek are undertaken in the temple.

Plans to construct new temple is underway & will take some time due to arrangement of Funds towards building of the New Temple. This area looks quite peace due to the presence of Shiva Linga. Devotees can perform abhishek to Shiva Lingam by contacting the temple priest.

We took a short break to have Lunch & to take rest in the afternoon after visiting this temple. We again Started at 5:30 pm to visit the Sri Sai Baba Mandir at Durga Agraharam. More on this in the next article on our Pilgrimage Series.

This is the 10th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

By the time we reached this temple at 11:30am, the temple was closed. Being a Small temple in the Sai Model Village Housing Colony at Ramavarapadu, A Small 3.5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba along with 1ft Marble Statues of Ganeshji & Dattatreya are installed in the temple sanctum. A Dhuni has been constructed in front of the Sanctum.

Sai Devotees residing at the Housing Colony & visitors to the State Bank of India, opp to the Sai Mandir & Customers visiting Sai Swarna Hyundai Showroom visit this temple of Sai Baba. Puja & Abhishek are performed early in the morning & later on one can have the darshan of Sai Baba from the Grilled gate outside of the temple. A Small fountain with Krishna's Kalinga Mardhana has been installed near to the Baba Mandir.

Sai Devotees traveling towards Eluru on NH 5 can definitely spend some time to visit the Sai Baba temples in this Road at Benz Circle, Ramavarapadu, Prasadampadu & Enikepadu & get the blessings of Sri Sai Baba.

We later ended our Morning session of temple pilgrimage with a visit to now under construction Sri Sai Shiva Brindavanam, behind Vijetha Hospital at Donakal Road in Vijayawada.

Today onwards we are happy to publish articles on Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Rajahmundry in East Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh on every wednesday.

Mrs. Padma Karunakaram who got shifted to Rajahmundry before some time & was previously writing articles on Sai Baba temple in & around Kakinada Town & East Godavari Dist has now started visiting Sai Baba temples in Rajahmundry town & will be writing articles on the same in the coming future.

This is the 1st temple of Sai Baba visited by her in this New Year 2012. Sri Ganesh Sai Mandir at Rajendra Nagar in Rajahmundry town was inaugurated on 29th June 2002. A 4ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba along with Marble Statues of Ganeshji & Dattatreya has been installed in the temple premises.

Pancha Loha Utsav Murthy of Sai Baba along with Sri Chakram has been installed in the temple premises.

History of the temple.

This temple being built in a residential layout now, there used to be a big anthill in that place before the construction of the temple. Devotees used to worship the anthill occasionally on Naga Panchami & Shasti.

Gradually as the residential layout grew & become busy the anthill was removed and a Sai Baba's Temple was constructed above it.

Highlights of this Temple.

Special Puja & Aarti is performed on thursday's & Special Days. Palki Seva & Bhajans are conducted on thursdays & special Days.

Kumkumarcha Puja to Sri Chakram is performed on every Friday's.

Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Temple Anniversary & Sai Punyathithi are performed in a very grand way in this temple.

On Temple Anniversary on 29th June of Year, Laksha (1 Lakh) Tulasi Patra Puja to Sai Baba and Sri Chakram are Performed by the Ladies.

A Horse is brought and decorated as Shyama Karna & Palki Seva is performed around the temple.

Nitya/Daily Annadanam is performed to 30 Poor & Needy People.

On Special Days Annadanam is performed to all those Sai Devotees visiting this temple.

116ft Sai Baba Statue at Repur, Kakinada Town, East Godavari Dist, Andhra Pradesh.

A 116 ft Cement Statue of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was unveiled on the 1st Jan 2012. It took 11 years to construct this cement statue at a Cost of 2.5 Crores with a life time guarantee of around 500 Years. Sai Baba is sitting on the Cement Stone with is 4 florey High.

It is yet to be painted. Temple completion is still pending. This temple is at Repur in Kakinada Town of East Godavari Dist. Andhra Pradesh.

A Cellar has been constructed below the foot of Sai Baba & the temple authorities are planning to fill it 2 crores of Sai Nama Japam sheets per annum making it 1000 Crores Sai Nama Japam in total.

It is Expected to take 1 More year to complete the Painting of the Huge Statue of Sri Sai Baba.

On the 31st of December 2011, Special New Year Eve Retreat was organised at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Jayanagar(E), Tumkur in a spiritual way.

Bhajan sandhya commenced by around 10:00 pm & the temple bhajan troop was very actively performing in the event. Sri Sai Baba was dressed in Creme attire & wearing a Crown with Stone work to Mark the event. During the Bhajans, Sai Baba's Sanctum was closed with curtains & special Alankar & Diya were getting arranged.

At exactly 12:00am on 01st Jan 2012, all the lights of the temple was stitched off. The curtain was opened & Sai Devotees were lucky enough to get the first glimpse of Sai Baba with the Diya's Lit around him. Sai Baba was glittering like gold in the oil lamps lit around him. After a 5 min meditation in complete darkness all the lights were switched on Again. By that time some Crackers were burnt in the temple premises by the Devotees of the temple.

Shej Aarti was performed to end the Ceremony at around 12:15am. A 10 Kg cake was cut to mark the event & Distributed among all Sai Devotees present for the New Year Celebration. I was very happy to participate in this event & start the New Year in a very Spiritual way.

This is the 9th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

It was around 11:00am when we reached this temple of Sri Sai Baba. It is a very beautiful Temple built for Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy in 1904.

In 1994, Due to the Immense Popularity of Sri Sai Baba, a sanctum for Sri Sai Baba was built by the efforts of the Trustees & Devotees visiting this Ram Mandir. A 4ft Cement Statue of Sri Sai Baba Baba was Installed in the temple premises next to Sri Ramachandra during the 90th Anniversary of this temple.

On 4th March 2001, a Bronze Raja Vigraha of Sri Sai Baba was installed along with a black stone statue of Sai Baba next to the Cement Statue.

Sai Baba's Dhuni is installed in front of the Sai Baba's Sanctum. Sai Baba's Palki Utsav is performed on Thursdays & special days after the Dhoop Aarti. Around 500 Devotees gather on Thurday

Annadanam is performed on Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punya Thithi & all the 10days of Dussehra.

Hanuman Jayanthi, Krishna Janmasthami, Mukothi Ekadashi, Sankaranthi & Ugadi are also performed grandly in this temple.

New Year 2012 Celebrations at Shri Sai Baba Dwarka Mandir.

New Year 2012 Celebrations at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir, was well planned & executed to the best of the Ability. As the temple had already created a record of performing 2011 ltrs Milk Abhishek in 2011, the Founders Mrs & Mr. Ashok Raj, Family & Friends wanted to perform a 2012 Ltrs Sheerabhishek to Sri Sai Baba in a More Professional Manner.

Large 1000ltrs Water tank, Jet Pumps to Shower the Milk & Pumps to drain the Milk to the Containers were planned, installed, tested & worked successfully through out the Sheerabishek Ceremony. Now let us have a Glimpse of the Actual program by reading the Complete Summary of the New Years Day at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir.

The New Year's Day 2012 at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir also popularly called as Euro School Sai Baba Mandir Started at 5:15am with Kakad Aarti to Sai Baba. Sri Chandrashekar Baba, the Chief Mentor & Guruji of this temple & also the Founder of Sri Sai Seva Shakti(R), Mysore conducted the Morning Aarti. By 6:00am after completion of the Aarti, Baba was prepared for the Mega event of the Day & Guruji after taking Baba's Permission for Sheerabishekam gave Rose Water Bath to Baba.

After completion of the Water Bath, Milk Abhishekam commenced at 6:15am & Sri. Chandrashekar Baba completed the First Abhishekam to Baba after Completing the Rituals.

By 6:30 Am Smt. Sumangala Hiremath & Sri. Angadi Hiremath, Sessions Court Judge at Bangalore & a Great Devotee of Sri Sai Baba, Chief Guest for the day, Inaugurated the Abhishekam Ceremony & Sai Devotees were asked to come in turn to perform Sheerabishekam to Marble Statue of Sai Baba.

Sai Devotees from Various places took part in this event & got the blessing of Sai Baba by performing Abhishekam. Proper Arrangement was made to control the Queue line & a very long Platform was installed around the Samadhi for devotees to come in line towards the Statue of Sri Sai Baba.

A Bunch of Sai Devotees, Members of this temple volunteered in arranging the Queue line & also helping with storing the Milk into 1000 Ltrs tank that was to be donated to children at Sri Siddaganga Mutt.

By 8:30am Rava kesari/ Sheera, Puri Sabzi & Badam Milk was provided for Morning Breakfast to all the Sai Devotees coming out of the Abhishekam.

Baba was given Milk Bath till 10:45 Am. It was around 4 Hrs that Baba took Milk Bath Continuously. Due to Sai Devotees bringing in Milk continuously for the Abhishekam it became a Never Ending Process.

A Total of 3600+ litres of Milk was used to perform the Abhishekam as per the final records that was maintained to track the inflow of Milk. It was milk every where. Though Sri Ashok Raj Planned for only 2012 Litres, More & More devotees started getting Milk for the Abhishek. The final total came to 3600+ Ltrs of Milk.

All the milk stored after the Abhishekam was successfully utilised for a very good cause. Around 1000 Litres of Milk was donated to Children studying in Siddaganga Mutt. Siddaganga Mutt is a Very Famous Mutt in the Vicinity & supports children from various back grounds by providing free education & accommodation. Around 11,000 Children are given free education, food & accommodated in various Hostels which are inside the Siddaganga Mutt Campus. Milk was donated to the Mutt after receiving the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Shiva Kumara Swamiji, the Pontiff of the Mutt.

Around 500 Litres of Milk was utilised to prepare Badam Milk & Kheer which was served as Prasadam to all the Sai Devotees visiting the temple for the Madhyan Aarti.

The rest of the Milk was distributed among Sai Devotees visiting the temple & some of the milk was donated to under privileged people in the near by colony.

After the Abhishekam, Baba was dressed up for the Madhyan Aarti. Meanwhile Sri. Chandrashekar Baba unveiled a New Photo Frame of Sai Baba & gifts were given to Sai Devotees regularly visiting this temple.

At 12 Noon, After Baba's Vastra & Pushpa Alankara, Naivaithya was performed & Madhyan Aarti commenced. Bisibele Bath/ Sambar Rice & Kheer was served to Sai Devotees as Prasad after the Madhyan Aarti.

Sai Baba's New Year Ceremony was relayed Live from 9:00am till the Noon Aarti in 3 Districts of Karnataka by the Local Cable Channel - Ammogh.

In the Evening Classical Bhajans of Sri Sai Baba were performed by Smt. Saraswati Murthy & group between 5:45pm - 8:30pm. Sai Baba Bhajans in Kannada on Various topics related to Sai Baba's Samadhi Mandir, Chavadi Procession, Dwarakamai, Udi Importance, 11 sayings of Sai Baba & Sai Ashtotharam were performed & it was a real delight to hear to her mesmerising voice.

Palki Utsav took place at around 6:30 pm with in the temple complex & Smt. Saraswati Murthy sung bhajans on Palki & Chavadi utsav to Mark the event.

After completion of Palki Utsav, the Bhajans commenced again & the Dhoop Aarti was performed. Naivaithya consisting of Vegetable Rice & Salad were kept to Baba. After the Dhoop Aarti, the Prasadam counter commenced & Sai Devotees eager to go back to home early left by collecting the Prasad.

After the Completion of Bhajans at 8:30pm, the Singers were felicitated with Momento & Shawl. Baba's Alankar was removed & Baba was dressed up again in White Satin for the Shej Aarti. Shej Aarti was performed by 8:45pm. Lullaby on Baba was sung during the Shayan Utsav at 9:15pm. Baba's Prasad was given to Sai Devotees present for the Shej Aarti. This way the New Year 2012 Ceremony was successfully performed in the temple Premises on Sunday, 1st Jan 2012.

Around 2500 Sai Devotees from Tumkur & around 250 from Bangalore attended New Year Celebrations & made it a grand success.

The Program was well covered by the Press & around 15 regional Newspapers displayed article about the Celebrations with Colour Photo on 2nd Jan 2012.

I Thank Mrs & Mr. Ashok Raj the Managing Trustee of this temple for Arranging the Complete Program & Making my New Years Day the Most Memorable of All Days with the Blessings of Sai Baba.

This is the 8th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

Sri Sai Geeta Mandiram at Enikepadu was inaugurated on 23rd August 2004. Under the Supervision of Sri Raju Rama Krishna Rao & the residents of Enikepadu, this temple of Shirdi Sai Baba was built.

A 5.5ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba was brought from Jaipur & was sculpted by Sri Vishnu Sharma has been installed in this temple. Small statues of Ganeshji, Dattatreya along with Utsav Murthy of Sai Baba has been installed in this temple.

Baba's Dhuni has been installed to the left of the temple near the entrance. On Thursdays & Special Days Sai Baba's Bhajans are performed between 7:00pm till 9:00pm. Palki Seva is also performed at 7:30pm.

Special Puja, Abhishek, Aarti, Vastra Alankar & Annadanam is performed on Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima & Sai Punya Thithi.

Sai Vrathan is performed on Sai Punyathithi in the temple premises. On Pournami & Shuddha Ekadashi Sai Naman Japam is performed in the temple through out the Day.

On Ekadashi annadanam is held in the temple after the Madhyan Aarti & around 1500 devotees get the Prasadam. For the temple anniversary around 3000 Sai Devotees gather for the special Puja & Annadanam.

During 2006, there was a theft at the temple premises & all the silver was stolen from the temple premises. later on due to the financial help of Sai Devotees, the temple was able to arrange security measures & the new Simhasan was installed again.

Siddha Mangala stotra Puja was performed at Sai Devotee Mrs. Padma Karunakaram's Home in Rajahmundry on 22nd Nov 2011.

Mrs. Nirmala Devi & Group from Gudiwada after taking the blessings of Sri Pada Sri Vallabha at Sreepada Sreevallabha Mahasamathanam, Pitapuram in East Godavari Dist started on a Mission to perform the Siddha Mangala Stotra Puja at 108 homes initially & later on complete at 1008 Homes of Sai Baba & Dattatreya Devotees.

The Puja at Mrs. Padma Karunakaram's Home started at around 2:30pm after decorating the Mantap with the statues of Ganeshji, Dattatreya & a Photo Frame of the Siddha Mangala Stotram written on it with garlands.

After the initial prayers to Ganeshji & Dattatreya, Chanting of Siddha Mangala Stotram for 108 times began. It took around 3hrs to Complete the 108 times chanting of Siddha Mangala Stotram.

This Siddha Mangala Stotra is from the Saptaha Paarayana Grandh 'Sripada Srivallabha Charitaamrutam'. Reciting this sloka every day is very beneficial. It removes all afflictions and obstacles and fulfills all desires. By chanting this everyday all obstacles will be destroyed. By receiving the blessings of Sri Sripada Srivallabha all lawful desires fulfilled and good events takes place.

At the end of the Chanting Session, Naivaithyam & Mangala Aarti was performed to the Dieties. Prasadam was Distributed to the Devotees present for the Puja.

This is the 7th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

After Visiting the Sri Sai Baba Sannidi at Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple in Krishna Lanka, we took a short break & had our Morning Breakfast. It is very tough to find a Pure Veg Hotel in Vijayawada City & all the dishes served are very spicy, hot & salty. We finally stopped at a restaurant near to Benz Circle & completed our Morning Breakfast & tea by around 9am.

We then Started towards Eluru Road in Search of Sai Baba temples & came across the Arch to this Sai Baba Temple at Prasadampadu. This temple of Sri Sai Baba was built & inaugurated on 17th Febraury 2005 & this is in a Lane opposite to Radha Madhav Toyota Showroom on Eluru Road. A Arch with Sai's Baba's Cement Statue can been seen from the Road opposite to the Showroom. On Taking the Lane inside this road the Baba's temple is just 50mtrs from the Arch/Main Road.

Sri Sai Seva Samithi - Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Prasadampadu.

Sri K Chidambara Rao the President & Land Donor of this temple & his family are the main reason behind construction of this Sai Baba Temple at Prasadampadu. Mrs. Chidambara Rao being a Staunch devotee of Sai Baba once saw 4 Sadhu's in front of her house at around 11am. When Enquired the sadhu's said that they are 5 in number including their guruji & would like to know if she can provide them with the after noon meal.

She then thought that i must be dattatreya with his 4 assistants & told them tht she could prepare the lunch by 1pm & serve them & asked them to return by 1pm to have lunch.

As argeed upon the sadhu's along with their guruji came home by 1pm to have their mid day meal. Due to the unrgency in completing the cooking Mrs. Chidambara rao forgot to prepare the Rasam but she served them the other food prepared by her. Though all the food was served, the guruji was more keen on the Rasam that was not prepared. It was a testing moment for Mrs. Chidambara rao.

After the Lunch, She wanted to give them all 10 Rupees each towards dakshina & brought the money to the Guruji. On Seeing this the guruji got enraged & shouted loudly that she had owed his lot of money & she has to return it in the form of Land that is vacant near her home. with out taking the dakshina, he returned.

Mrs. Chidambara Rao was totally confused & started asking different saints & astrologer about the significance of this event. Soon she came to know that it was indeed Sai Baba who wanted her to build a temple at a place shown by him. As she came near to the present temple property that was vacant before some time, she saw a very old Neem tree in the property & thought that this property is indeed the best Place to build a Sai Baba Temple.

After telling about her wish to her Husband, Mr. Chidambara Rao along with the village seniors discussed & brought this property to be built into a Sai Baba Temple. Thus this temple was built due to the efforts of Sri Chidambara Rao & Family.

Highlights of this Temple.

1. A 5.5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba has been installed along with Sri Ganesh, Dattatreya & Pancha Loha Statue of Sri Sai Baba in the Air Conditioned Hall. Sai Baba's Life Story has been depicted in the Form of Pictorial Representation inside the temple Premises.

2. Sai Baba's Palki & Swing(Unjal) are also installed inside the temple premises. Palki Utsav is performed on all Thursdays at 08:00pm & also on special Days.

3. Black Stone Statue of Ganeshji along with marble statues of Hanuman & Sai Baba are installed below the Neem tree at the entrance of the temple & this is the gurusthan of the temple.

4. Sai Baba's Dwarakamai & Dhuni are also installed in front of the temple near to the beside Gurusthan.

5. Sai Baba Bhajans are performed on Thursdays between 06:30pm till 09:00pm.

6. Special Puja's are performed on Rama navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Pujya Thithi, Dussehra, Diwali, English New Year, Sankaranthi & Ugadi.

7. On Rama Navami Chandana Utsavam is performed & Sai Baba's Marble statue is completely smeared with Sandalwood paste during the Bath.

8. On Guru Pournima Special Floral Decoration is performed around the temple & Special Puja, Abhishek, Aarti & Annadanam is performed on this day.

9. For Sai Punya Thithi, Samuhika Sai Satya Vratham is performed in the Morning & Samadhi Utsavam is performed in the afternoon on the Ekadashi.

10. During Dussehra, Kumkumarchara is performed daily by 25 Couples & on Moola Nakshatra Day that falls on any one of the 10 days 116 Couples perform the Kumkumarchana Seva.

11. For Diwali, The Entire temple is decorated with Lights & Diya's are light around the temple. On Karthika Pournima "OM" & Surya/Sun designs are done using diya's & are lit in the temple premises.

12. For the New year, Special Puja's are performed & the temple is completed decorated with floral arrangements. On the New Year Eve on 31st Dec a 20kg Cake is cut at Mid Night after the Shej Aarti & Distributed among Sai Devotees present to celebrate & welcome the New Year.

13. On Both the Ekadasha, Annadanam is performed in the temple after theMadhyan Aarti & around 1000 Sai Devotees attend the Annadanam.

14. On Ekadashi before Pournami Fruits are kept around Sai Baba & Sai Devotees keep on Bringing Fruits the whole day to complete their Prayers.

Miracles associated with this temple

1. An Old Lady Watch Women felt the Presence of Sri Sai Baba with his begging bowl in his hand, Roaming around the temple on one of the Nights. See this She got scared & stopped attending work for few days.

2. On a Ekadashi before Pournami a sai devotee, now a part of this temple was made to remember that he need to keep fruits to Sri Sai Baba which he had forgot to keep for the previous 2 - 3 Months.

Today we are visiting the Home of Sai Devotee Sri. Anipeddi Venkata Subrahmanya Sarma a Retd. Health Inspector who has been worshiping Sai Baba for 25 yrs now as his Guru. He always wrote Sai Koti Namam books from the day he came into Baba's Worship. He also performed daily parayan of Sai Satcharita.

Sai Baba's blessing came to him in the form of the Udi which Baba has been giving from 09th Nov 2009. Till Nov 2011, he has removed the Udi 5 times and has been distributing it those who come to their house. Sai Devotees from nearby area & town come here to perform meditation.

Though Baba has been giving instructions to Sri Sarma to help Sai Devotees coming to him with Problems, Sri. Sarma is not interested to tell them & extract money from them.

He always advices people to pray to Sai Baba whole heartedly. Bow down to Sadguru whole heartedly to get his grace & blessings.

His elder daughter brought the statues of Sri Sai Baba from chennai & they cleared an entire room to accomadate Sai Baba. A Gaddi has been installed & statues of Sai Baba has been placed on it. Sai Baba's Different Potraits have also been placed on it. Udi is seen flowing down from every where. All the Aarti's are performed regularly in time.

Half a litre of Milk is placed daily in the morning & Baba consumes that milk and leaves a little bit as prasad. Prasadam, Sweet brought by Sai Devotees are placed in front of him & after some time it is found that a "OM" mark has been inscribed on them signifying the presence of Sai Baba & that he has consumed the prasadam placed by the devotee. No Donation Hundi has been installed in the premises & Sai Devotees interested are keeping their donations below Baba's Feet to perform the Prasad Seva.

Shri Sai Satcharitra Mahaparayan Sohala 2011 at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

Shri Sai Satcharitra Mahaparayan Sohala 2011 was held recently during the 3rd week of December at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Sai Baba's Silver Palki & other valuable articles were specially flown from Shirdi to mark this event.

Pictorial Representation of Life of Sai Baba was well depicted at the entrance of the hall. A Huge Statue of Sai Baba made of fiber was installed in the Parayan Hall & all the Puja activities went on really well.

Sai Baba's Sai Satcharita Parayan was performed during this mega event. Bhajan sandhya was conducted in the evening. One could feel as if Sai Baba from shirdi had come all the way to Mumbai during this Program. It was more or less like a festive atmosphere with loads of activities going around the clock at the event.

"Shri Sai Satcharitra Mahaparayan Sohala 2011" and Sai Bhajan Sandhya was held from 15th Dec 2011 to 18th Dec 2011 at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This Mahaparayan festival was held by the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan, Shirdi together with the Shirdi Gramastha, Sai Palki Nivara, Shirdi (Nighoj-Nimgaon) and all the "Sai Padyatra Mandal's" of Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Vasai and Virar.

The Entry was free for all but registration was required for those who wanted to participate in the recital of "Shri Sai Satcharitra" which began every morning. Those registered received a copy of Shri Sai Satcharitra, Baba's Aarti Book, a Photo of Baba and Baba's Udi.

For this festival a replica of the Shirdi Temple was made with the highlight being a 24-feet-tall Idol of Sai Baba, the biggest ever created so far in Mumbai. It took 60 workers who worked day and night for 21 days to construct this replica of the Shirdi Temple including the 24-feet-tall Idol of Sai Baba.

Sai Baba's Original Padukas, which were last brought from Shirdi to Mumbai in 1993, were again brought to Mumbai, after a gap of almost 19 years, for this festival. Also brought from Shirdi for Darshan was Sai Baba's Palki & the Gold Framed Photo of Baba. The main grand entrance to the venue was also built like the actual one in Shirdi together with Baba's Neem tree & the Samadhi Shrine. Spread out on 7 acres of land, this festival recreated Shirdi in Mumbai where Idols of various Gods & Goddesses could also be seen.

In all 3 different beautifully
decorated Tents were put up for this festival:

1) The First Tent had sets showcasing the life, times & spiritual journey of Sai Baba and his disciples with the help of Mannequins.

2) The Second Tent, having a capacity to accommodate around 7,000 people, was where the Shri Sai Satcharitra Mahaparayan was held.

3) The Third Tent was where the Meals were served for the devotees during breaks.

Sai Bhajan Sandhya was held everyday in the open area, from 19:30 to 22:30 by a galaxy of singers on whose Bhajans a daily crowd of around 15,000 people swayed & danced along.

Devotees entered the venue holding the holy "Shri Sai Satcharitra" on top of their heads chanting "Sadguru Sainath Maharaj Ki Jay" and dancing to the beats of the Drums/Cymbals being played. Some devotees made colorful Rangoli (Art) on the way on which Baba's Palki was carried to the venue.

Apart from the daily meal, care was also taken of housing over 2,500 visitors in various community halls & homes across Bandra. A request was also made to the BEST to initiate added Bus services to the BKC Grounds for this festival. A Causality Centre and around 4 Ambulances of the Sansthan were also kept ready, just in case of emergency. The Sansthan has spent over Rs.30 lakh for the event wherein maximum funds were achieved via anonymous donations.

A similar Sai Festival has been arranged in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan in February 2012, while plans are on for a similar event to be be staged in cities like Panjim in Goa, Solapur and Satara in Maharashtra.

The creative designer behind all the Sets replicating the Shirdi Sai Temple, has already commenced creating a 60-feet Idol of Sai Baba outside the periphery of the Temple grounds in Shirdi. And the total project cost of which is going to range around Rs.51 crore.

This is the 6th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

This temple is very near & it is a 1 min walk from the Sesha Sai Baba Temple at Ranigari Thota in Krishna Lanka. A Temple dedicated to Sri Satya Narayana Swamy was built during 1971 here.

A Sanctum for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba has been installed recently in the entrance of the temple. A 4ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba along with 2ft statues of Sri Ganeshji & Dattatreya have been installed here due to the immense popularity of Sri Sai Baba temples in Andhra Pradesh.

Sanctums of Durgadevi, Shiva & Rama are also installed in the temple premises. As such not much is known about the Puja & Aarti for Sai Baba. Daily Morning Abhishekam is performed to Sai Baba along with Ganeshji & Dattatreya.

A Dhuni for Sai Baba has been installed in the temple premises. Sai Devotees can visit this temple & get the blessings of Sri Satya Narayana along with Sai Baba. Couples praying for Children can pray to Santana Sri Satya Narayana Swamy here & get fruitful results.

After visiting this temple, we took a short break & had our breakfast at a hotel nearby Benz Circle. Then we continued our pilgrimage & visited Sri Sai Baba Temple at Prasadampadu. More on this in our coming article on Pilgrimage Series.

Today we are visiting the Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram at Mori in East Godavari Dist. of Andhra Pradesh. Mori is a Village in Sakhinetipalle Mandal in East Godavari District. Mori is 8.3 km from its Mandal Main Town Sakhinetipalle. Mori is located at a distance of 75.2 km from its District Main City Kakinada. It is around 20kms from Razole & about 2kms from Malkipuram. Mori is famous for cashew nuts and cotton sarees.

Goddess Maha lakshmi is the village Diety. Sai Baba's temple is built in the Maha Lakshmi Temple premises. A 4ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba has been placed in this temple & All the aarti's and puja's are performed regularly. Important festivals like Rama Navami, Guru Pournima & Sai Pujyathithi are celebrated grandly in the temple.

This is the 5th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

After completing the Darshan at Nehru Nagar Sai Baba Mandiram, We decided to travel towards Eluru Road & this was the first temple to be spotted on that road. Sri Shirdi Sesha Sai Baba Mandiram is towards the left hand side on the Banks of the Canal at Ranigari Thota in Krishna Lanka area of Vijayawada.

It is around 5kms from City Railway Station & all buses heading towards Gannavaram Airport stop near to the temple of Sri Sai Baba. This temple was inaugurated on 26th Aug 1996 by the efforts of Sri Shiva Rama Krishna Prasad the Founder & Purohit of this temple.

Due to the blessings of the Grama Devata( Village Goddess), Sri Prasad got the inspiration to build a temple for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba & Baba appeared to him in the form of Sesha(Snake). So the founder planned to build a Sesha Sai Baba temple here. As he had not previously seen any statues of Sai Baba with Sesha(Sarpa) on his head, he was a little worried but due to the blessings of the village diety every thing went on smoothly.

A 6ft Cement statue of Sesha Sai Baba with Nagabarana was designed & installed in the temple premises. Slowly lot of good things started to happen & the founder become more & more closer to Sai Baba.

At one stage after building the temple, he got a job with a very attractive salary which he rejected saying that if it was not for baba, he would have never come out of his bad state during the time of crises & during building of this temple.

Baba's Dhuni & Dwarakamai are installed in the temple premises. On Every Thursday, Ekadashi & Special days Baba's Palki Utsav is performed at 6:30pm.

Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi, Dussehra, Karthika Masa Special Puja & Shravana Masam Kumkum archana are performed very grandly in this temple.

For Rama Navami Rathotsav is performed around Krishna Lanka area.

For Guru Pournima Samuhika Sai Satya Vratham is performed in the temple premises & around 300 Couples participate in the group event.

For Sai Punyathithi Samadhi Utsav is performed after 2:30pm on the Vijaya Dasami Day.

After the Shej Aarti, shayanotsav is performed in the temple.

This temple is quite peaceful even though it is on the National Highway.

This is the 4th Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Saturday 22nd Oct 2011.

We started early at around 6:15am from a Sai Devotees home at Tadepalli to visit Sai Baba Temples for the Day. Soon after crossing the New Bridge across Krishna river towards vijayawada, we were able to see a small signboard indicating the directions to this Sai Baba temple at Nehru Nagar.

Actually one has to go through Krishna Lanka area to visit this temple. But the other way to visit this temple would be to stop at the entrance of the bridge when coming from vijayawada & see to the right side to see a small sign board & a small opening in the barrier. There are few steps to go down to reach this temple of Sri Sai Baba.

It is around 3kms from Vijayawada Railway Station towards guntur. A Small 4ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba has been installed on a elevated platform in this temple. A Temple for Hanuman, Sri Rama & Shiva was built before 3 decades in this area & Sai Baba's Sanctum was installed & inaugurated on 19th April 2002.

A Small Statue of Ganeshji, Dattatreya & Durgadevi has been installed in the Sai Baba temple premises. Dhuni is also installed to the left of the temple. This dhuni is unique in this temple & it is a bit tilted towards the back.

All the Aarti, Abhishek & Puja are performed regularly in this temple. As we entered the temple, the priest was preparing for the Aarti & we were lucky to perform Baba's Kakad Aarti. Mrs. Padma Karunakaram sang some devotional songs on Sai Baba after the Aarti. On thursday & special days annadanam is performed in the temple premises. On Thursday Palki seva is perfomed to Sai Baba.

Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Navarathri, Sai Punyathithi are performed grandly in this temple. For Navarathi Special Puja, Kumkumarchana is performed to Durga devi.

Later we started for the Sesha Sai Baba Mandiram at Bapanayya Nagar in Krishna Lanka. More on this temple in the coming pilgrimage series article.

Today we are visiting the Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram at Malkipuram in East Godavari Dist. of Andhra Pradesh. Malkipuram is 10 km from razole, 12 km from narsapur after cross the river, 20 km from palkole, 90 km from district head quarters kakinada. Nearby railway station is Palkole and Narsapur.

It is a Cool Village center in East Godavari Near Razole and Amalapuram with lot of place value for Coconut Farming. Malkipuram is famous for cotton sarees, lungis etc. Many people depend on weaving cotton clothes here.

Sai Baba's temple is located in the main road. A 5.5ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba has been installed in this temple. People of the surrounding area have witnessed many miracles of baba in this temple. All Aarti & Puja rituals are performed regularly & special puja are performed on thursday's & special days.

On the Occasion of Datta Jayanti Celebrations Special Abhishek & Puja was performed at Sai Baba temple situated at Jai Suryapatnam, Nadergul Village, Near Gurramguda, Off BN Reddy Nagar, Sagar Highway, Hyderabad.

The temple was built and inaugurated on 8th April 2010 and has Sri Siddhi Buddi Sameta Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple (built in the memory of late Guruji Sri Baabuji Garu, who performed all such events to the same baba deity installed here for over 10 years) and Sri Nagendra Swami.

Abhishekam was performed with 108 liters cow milk, 5 liters each of Honey, Curds, Ghee, fresh fruits, dates and honey, Powdered Sugar, vibhooti, chandan, kumkum, haldi etc. and it was a sight to see.

This is the 3rd Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Friday 21th Oct 2011.

My 10th Pilgrimage at Vijayawada Started with a Visit to:

After our visit to Sai Baba Mandir at Atmakur Village, we started back to home as it was getting dark & i was not interested to venture out any further. On our way back, i saw a temple structure with Gopuram resembling to that of Sai Baba & went towards it. It is at Kolanakonda Village & is visible from the Main Road. As the Road work is going on, it is quite tough to find a proper parking place.

While travelling from Vijayawada towards Guntur, it is after the Tadepalli Village & it is around 7kms from Vijayawada City. This temple is in the Right Side when travelling from Vijayawada.

The Land & Statue of this temple has been donated by Sri. MD Noorr, a Businessman by profession. Sri Atluri Venkata Ranga Rao is the founder of this temple. This temple has been built & inaugurated on 04th Nov 2004.

A 5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba has been installed in the temple premises on the first floor. A Black Stone Statue of Ganeshji & Dattatreya are also installed along with the statue's of Sai Baba.

Dhuni has been installed at the entrance of the temple. On Every Thursday & Special Days, Sai Devotees from the Nearby Villages & travelers visit this temple to get the blessings of Sri Sai Baba. Annadanam is performed on the Temple Anniversary Day on Nov 4th of Every Year.

Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi, Datta Jayanti & New Year is celebrated grandly in this temple.

The Ground floor has been kept vacant as of now & plans to start a Meditation hall & free coaching class for the poor students have been planned for the future.

This is the 2nd Temple visited by us during our 10th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Vijayawada on Friday 21th Oct 2011.

My 10th Pilgrimage at Vijayawada Started with a Visit to:
Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram, Benz Circle.

After taking some rest in the afternoon & catching up with the things, we started for a casual drive towards NH5 Highway in search of Sai Baba Temples. It was around 6pm & getting dark & we finally ended up visiting this temple of Sri Sai Baba at Atmakur, a Small village on the Highway between Vijayawada & Gunter. This temple is around 9kms from Vijayawada City. This temple is visible towards the left from the highway while travelling from vijayawada towards Guntur.

This temple was Inaugurated in 2004. As it was time for Dhoop Aarti, we attended for the Aarti & were lucky enough to perform Aarti to Sai Baba by ourself. After the Aarti, Mrs. Padma sang some devotional songs on Sai Baba & Lakshmi devi as it was a friday & the whole place was looking peaceful. Meanwhile i was busy taking Snaps & gathering information on the temple.

Highlights of this Temple

A 4ft Marble statue of Sri Sai Baba has been installed in this temple & has a Samadhi of Sai Baba built in the temple sanctum. A Statue of Ganeshji & Nandi have been installed at the entrance of the temple in the corridor. A Statue of Lakshmi has been installed towards the left of Sai Baba.

It is believed that 2 Cobra Snakes have been visiting this temple regularly on every Amavasya & Pournima to get the blessings of Sai Baba.

Sai Baba's Dwarakamai & Dhuni is also installed in this temple to the left of the corridor.

Every Thursday around 100 Sai Devotees from the Village & Police Academy Campus visit this temple to get the blessing of Sri Sai Baba.

Special Puja & Abhishekam are performed on Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi & 9 day Kalas is placed for Dusshera. Annadanam is performed on Thursdays & Special Days.

Sri Chakram/ Maha Meru has been installed in the temple to the left of Sai Baba's Statue & has been placed in on a vessel containing water. On Friday Abhishekam is performed & the water is replaced beneath the Sri Chakram. Lemons are kept & kumkum archana is performed on Friday to Sri Chakram.

On Every Thursday Sai Bhajans & Palki Seva are performed after the Dhoop Aarti .

On Every Pournima Samuhika Sai Satya Vratham is performed in this temple.

Plans to install Simhasan, Navagraha, Shiva & Dattatreya in the Sanctum are in progress & the temple is looking for donations in this regard.

Today we are visiting the 2nd Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Amalapuram. After visiting Sri Sai Baba Devalayam, we are now visiting this Sri Sai Baba Swarna Devalayam which is adjacent to the previous temple of Sai Baba on the Main Road.

As the name indicates this temple's Gopuram is going to be covered with Gold as in Shirdi. A Sai Devotee wanted to build a bigger temple of Sri Sai Baba & donated this land adjacent to the old temple where a Clay Statue of Sai Baba has been installed. The Temple authorities decided not to break the old temple & to build a new temple & a 5.5ft Marble Statue of Sai Baba has been installed in this temple.

As of Now the Stupa has been Covered with Gold & in the near future, plans have been made to cover the entire gopuram with gold & make this temple a unique place in the East Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh.

All the Puja's & Aarti's are performed as per Shirdi Sansthan guidelines. A Silver Crown has been installed on Baba's Head. Special Puja, Palki Seva & Annadanam are performed on Thursday & on Special Days like Rama Navami, Guru Pournima & Sai Punyathithi.

Sai Devotees in & around Amalapuram & East Godavari Dist are awaiting for the temple to be covered with Gold & that it becomes a prominent place of worship.

I was Invited to attend a Spiritual Library Opening Ceremony to be held at Sri Sai Baba Mandir in Machilipatnam on 23rd Oct 2011. So I planned to visit some temples in Vijayawada on 21st & 22nd Oct before heading to Machilipatnam. As Planned i started for Vijayawada on 20th Oct 2011 from Chennai.

After Successfully completing my previous trip at Chennai between 10th - 14th Oct 2011, I Started my Pilgrimage to Sai Baba temple at Vijayawada on Friday, 21st Oct 2011.

To my Surprise Mrs. Padma Karunakaram who has been writing Articles on Sai Baba Temples in East Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh was in Vijayawada & was very eager to join me for the Pilgrimage to Sai Baba Temples. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba's temple at Benz Circle is one of the Oldest temples for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba at Vijayawada & quite famous in & around Krishna Dist. This temple has been built & maintained for around 30 yrs now.

It is at a distance of around 5kms from City Railway Station & Bus Stand. This temple is near to Stella Mary's College & is visible to the Right Side on the Highway while heading towards Eluru.

A 3.5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba has been Installed in temple premises. A Small Marble Statue of Ganeshji & Dattatreya along with marble & panchaloha Utsav Murthy of Sai Baba has been installed near to the Main Idol of Sai Baba.

Sai Baba's Chavadi has been installed to the left of the Idol & Potrait of Sri Sai Baba along with the Panchaloha Statues of Kalyana Rama & Lakshmi has been installed.

Baba's Dhuni has been installed at to the left side at the entrance of the temple opposite to the sales counter.

On Thursdays & Special Days like Rama Navami, Guru Pournima & Sai Punyathithi Special Puja, Abhishekam, Alankaram, Aarti & Annadanam is performed.

During Navaratri, Special Alankaram is done to the Statue of Sri Sai Baba on all the 9 Days & special Kumkumarchana puja is performed to goddess Lakshmi during that time.

Palki Utsav is performed on Thursday & Special Days after the evening Dhoop Aarti. Shayana Utsav is performed daily after the Shej Aarti.

Special Puja's to Ganeshji, Shiva & Dattatreya are performed on Sankatahara Chaurthi, Pradosham & Datta Jayanthi. This temple is quite peaceful & by seeing Baba's Pleasant face, one could feel light hearted & happy visiting this temple of Sri Sai Baba.

A Book Counter selling religious books on Sai Baba has been set up at the entrance of the temple & opened during the working hrs.

A Shoe/ Chappel counter has also been set up in the temple premises to safe guard the footware. This service is provided for a Nominal Cost.

A Centrally Air Conditioned Sai Baba Kalyan Mantap is under Construction near to the temple with 2 Halls & Dining facility with a seating Capacity of around 1000+ guests. It is expected to be completed by the Mid of 2012. All the revenue earned through the Kalyana Mantap will be utilised in performing social activities like free eduction scholarship to poor children, Construction of Old Age Homes & Orphanages etc.

It was a rainy day & started my pilgrimage thinking that it is just a slight drizzle & that i could manage to visited the temple. After speaking to Sri. Ramanan the founder of this temple, i started towards Sri Ananda Sai temple at Poonthandalam in chennai suburb. It is quite far & it is around 9 kms from Kundrathur which is famous for Murugan Temple.

From City is at a distance of 30kms. It started to rain heavily by the time, i was half way towards this temple. Also the roads leading to this temple are quite empty & chances of missing the entry towards the temple is high.

It is adviced to speak to Sri Ramanan well in advance & take proper guidance towards visiting this temple. As the Public transport frequency is very less & Private transport is not available, going by own vehicle is the best way to reach this temple.

About Sri N V Ramanan - The Founder of this Temple.

Sri N V Ramanan & his family, the Founder members of this temple are Staunch Devotees of Sri Sai Baba. His mother had given him a photo of Sai Baba and advised him to offer his prayers to Baba. He is working for the Chennai Port Trust at Present.

One day during 1997, he & his friends were interested to know about their future and they approached a palm reader to get their horoscope read.

The horoscope of Sri. Ramanan revealed that he would build a temple in the future. This was shocking to him as he never had any thoughts and wondered which deity’s blessing will shower on him to do this noble work.

In the year 1998, he visited ECR Road - Injambakkam Sai Maindir & had a glimpse of Sai. Baba in his dream told him that, he will come in a new form and construct a temple for him. After this vision Sri. Ramanan came out of Family Bonding & started to live celibate.

From 30th June 1998 onwards he stopped wearing slippers. He started to visualize Sai in his Atma. From then onwards he started to look for a suitable place to build a Sai Mandir.

It was rather a very difficult task and at last, he was able to select a small plot at Nanganallur which is famous for its temple but there were some litigation in buying the same & the idea dropped out of his mind.

During the same time one of his friends constructed a temple for Lord Ganesha and Sri Ramanan participated in the opening ceremony. During this event his friend introduced him to Sri. Leo Muthu the Chairman of Sai Ram Engineer College who himself is a Staunch devotee of Sai Baba & has also built a small temple for Sai Baba inside the College Campus.

Sri. Ramanan after coming to know about Sai Baba's temple requested Sri LeoMuthu to help him in solving the problems related to purchase of land as this land was to be used for building Sai Mandir.

Sri. Leo Muthu was pleased to hear this & agreed to donate 70 cents( Around 30000 Sq Ft) of land behind his Sai Ram Engineering College & requested Sri Ramanan to take the responsibility of managing the activities.

Highlights of Sri Ananda Sai mandir.

1. On 26th Jan 2004, Gurusthan was opened with Swarna Akarshana Bhairavar.

2. Here is the Miracle that happened towards procuring this 6.5 Fibre Statue of Sai Baba for the Gurusthan. Sai Devotees Mrs & Mr Surya were pulled by Sai Baba to join & put their contributions towards the building of this temple.

Mrs. Surya also has a dream in which Sai told her to make a Statue and he had said that the Statue should be entirely different from what is seen now in all Sai Baba Mandirs.

A different image should be created and installed in a village called “Poonthandalam”. Sai also asked her to find a person who had the same thought and she also had a vision of this village. She did not know how to fulfill this dream as she is Dubai. Where is this "Poonthandalam village"? Who makes Sai Statues? What is the new form? She had no clue for all these questions.

When she came to Chennai and started searching for this village, she met Sri Ramanan who started to construct a Small Sai temple in the Plot donated by Sri Leo Muthu & was so happy to see the village which she visualized in her dream. She also came to know that Sri Ramanan was searching for a Different Statue of Sri Sai Baba.

On her way back to Chennai she planned to visit Kanchipuram Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt & to take the blessings of Kanchi periyavar. After reaching the Mutt they saw a 2.5 ft. Statue of Kanchi Maha Periyava and felt that the Idol looks very Unique and got the idea of getting the same kind of Statue for our Sai.

On enquiring, they got to know about Sri. T.P.R. Ganesh and Sai worked the miracle on Ganesh’s hands and the outcome was a 6.5 ft Fibre Glass Statue of Sai Baba.

On the Gokulastami Day in 2006, the Completed Statue of Sai Baba was handed over to Sri Ramanan & was installed in the Dwarakamai.

3. On April 20th 2008, Dwarakamaye was opened to Sai Devotees.

4. Om Vijaya Dasami of 2009, Sai Baba's Dhuni, Chavadi, Lendi Baug & Annadana Hall was inaugurated. Annadanam is performed on all thurdays from 11:00am & around 300 Sai Devotees attend the event. On January 1st & 26th Jan of every year Annadanam is performed in a Grand way & around 2500 Sai Devotees attend the event

5. On Vijaya Dasami of 2010, Sai Baba's 3.5ft & 5.5ft Marble Statue were donated by Mrs. Lochani Raman from Singapore & has been installed in front of Chavadi.

6. A Big Dhyana Mantapam of Sri Sai Baba is under construction in the temple premises at a Estimated cost of around 1.5 Crores.

7. Sri Rama Navami, Guru Poornima, Sai Punyathithi, Temple anniversary on April 20th
(Planning to celebrate Citra Poornima in the future instead of April 20th as this is an auspicious day for Sai and Swarnakarshana Bhairavar too) are celebrated in a very Grand Way.

8. Sai came to the Gurusthan in Poonthandalam on January 26 & this is celebrated as Pradhishta Day.

9. Palki Utsav is performed on every thursday after the Dhoop Aarti in the village.

Significance of Fibre Glass Statue.

This is the 6.5ft Statue of Sai Baba made by Sri Ganesh. The 6.5ft Statue of Sai that is to be kept on "Sri Ananda Sai Dhyana Mandapam"is ever unique one.

This Statue is made of 'Fibre Glass' & the uniqueness of the statue is that you can see the nerves as that of human beings in the statue.

Sai's Miracle in Sri Ramanan's Life.

Lot of miracles have occured through out his journey to build this temple & he would like to state the following.

During the construction of the Dwarakamai, there was a problem. On The roof facing the north direction Sri. Ramanan wanted to install “OM” symbol and so they had left a small portion of the roof uncovered.

The person in charge for doing this job was delaying and this was causing lot of tension. In case if it rains the Sai Baba Statue inside the temple will get wet. So he was very upset and was requesting the Engineer to work out fast. Ramanan earnestly prayed to Baba, for not knowing what is causing this delay and how he can handle?

Baba’s way Baba only knows. Baba had his own design, Yes, Sai had appeared in Ramanan’s dream and said, “I need the peetam of mother to be installed here i.e. "THE LOTUS," and what a wonder the symbol was so perfectly done and the uncovered roof was closed without any further alteration.

Another incident which Ramanan shared was Since the temple is situated in a remote place there was shortage of cash flow for construction and Sri. Ramanan was asking Sai to help him to be out of this crisis.

Sai appeared in his dream and told him that this land is a bare land & can’t be used for agriculture to make it a fertile and u need to have flourishing land. “Swarnakarshna Bairavar" to be installed and the deity will bring prosperity to this land. Baba had also said that he will come in the form of “Swarna” gold to the new temple.

Few days later a tortoise came in front of the temple and reminded Ramanan about the “Kurma Avatar” and immediately he thought of having a turtle to be installed in the temple, as in Dwarakamayi.

The new mandir is designed in such a way that “Sai standing at the entrance of the temple facing north and south directions and inviting his devotees to have His darshan”.

Today we are going to Visit Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram at Amalapuram Town of Andhra Pradesh. There are 2 temples of Sri Sai Baba & this is the first & oldest temple for Baba.

Amalapuram is a town in East Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the headquarters of Godavari delta named Konaseema, the triangle formed by the waters of Godavari. These lands (Black cotton soil) are highly fertile for growing crops like coconut and paddy. Kakinada and Rajahmundry are the two connecting cites to Amalapuram.

Located in this town are the famous temples of Lord Venkateswara, Lord Subrahmanyeswara and Lord Chandramouliswara. This town is known for its Vedic culture and its development. It also has many Veda Patasalas With beautiful coconut trees and lush greenery, it is one of the most scenic places on the planet.

A Clay Statue of 5.5ft has been installed in this temple. All the Puja rituals are being followed as per Shirdi Sansthan, Shirdi. Being the oldest temple in this locality, it attracts lot of Sai Devotees around this town. Special Puja & Aarti are performed on Thursdays followed by Annadanam. Rama Navami, Guru Pournima & Sai Punyathithi are some of the festivals celebrated grandly in the temple premises.

The Simhasan of Sai Baba is uniquely integrated with Baba's marble Statue & is made of Marble with 2 lions on either side. This is much to be noted in this temple.

Karthika Deepotsavam 2011 at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Jayanagar [E], Tumkur.

Karthika Deepotsavam was celebrated at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Jayanagar (E), Tumkur. The Ladies Wing of the Temple under the leadership of Mrs. Sowbhagya organised the Deepotsavam. Diya's were prepared to be Lit & after the Evening Dhoop Aarti, Sai Devotees started to Light the Diya's One by One all around the Temple & Mukh Mantap. There were diya's every where. The Sanctum, Temple, Dwarakamai, Gurusthan, Mukh Mantap was covered with the Diya's. The Complete area around the temple was filled with warmth & one could feel the fragrance of the Gingelly oil burning in the diya.

Early in the Morning Baba Received a Milk bath. He was dressed up in Raja Alankar with Pagdi & Gold Ornaments. Special Pooja & Aarti was conducted on behalf of all Sai Devotees. Evening at around 6:45pm the diya's were lit after the Dhoop Aarti.

Sai Bhajan was organised to mark the event. At the end of the Sai Bhajan, Palki Utsav of Utav Murthy took place. A New Silver Statue of Sai Baba has been recently donated by a Sai Devotee to the temple & it is being used as the Utsav Murthy for the Palki Utsav. The Day ended with Shej Aarthi to Sai Baba & Prasadam was served to all the Sai Devotees present in the temple.

This is the 4th Temple visited by me during my 9th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Chennai on Wednesday 12th Oct 2011.

My 9th Pilgrimage at Chennai Started with a Visit to:

Shri Bhairava Sai Temple, Madipakkam.

Sri Shirdi Sai Maharaj Alayam Temple, Nazrathpet.

Sri Anna Baba Mandir, Poonamallee.

This temple of Sri Sai Baba was built by H H. Sri Kesavaiah Swamy in 1953. It is More or Less a Dhyana Mandapam for Sri Sai Baba with a Seating Capacity of 1000+ Devotees. No Statue has been installed in the temple premises.

A Life size Potrait of Sri Sai Baba similar to the snap published below has been installed in this Mandir. The Samadhi of Sri Kesavaiah Swamy is also installed in the mediation hall to the left of Sai Baba's Potrait.

On Thursday's & Important Days Satsang's & Bhajans are performed in the temple premises. No Puja is performed here. Sai Devotees can come here. Meditate of Sri Sai Baba & get his blessings.
A Paduka of Sri Sai Baba has been installed in the Main Hall & Sai Devotees are allowed to Touch the Feet & get his blessings.

A Small temple for Ganeshji has been built to the side of the Dhyan Mandir. As were not given permission to take the snaps of the Potrait due to Non Availability of Concerned Persons in the Temple Premises, We ended up taking snaps of the temple from Outside & have posted the scanned copy of the Potrait found in the temple book.

This temple is at a Distance of around 50kms from the State Capital Hyderabad. A Marble Statue of Sai Baba of height 3Ft has been installed in this temple. Sanctum of Sri Lakshmi, Ganapathi, Dattatreya & Sarpa Raja are present in this temple.
