Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Sankshema Seva Sangam Mandir, NH 5 Junction, Abid Nagar, Akkayyapalem, Visakhapatnam

Aum Sai Ram.

This is the seventh Temple on which i'm writing article that I visited during my 17th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Visakhapatnam & Kakinada between 17th July 2013 till 26th July 2013.

This is the 6th temple to be visited at Visakhapatnam under the Pilgrimage Series for my Sai Photo Blog.

After our Satisfied Darshan at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Sankshema Seva Sangam Mandir at Milk Booth Junction, we headed towards the next temple at NH 5 Junction. As it was Aarti time, the temple was completely crowded with Sai Devotees & we decided to wait for the Aarti to get completed.

This temple was inaugurated on 23rd November 1996. It was again Altered & again Re Inaugurated on 23rd November 2010.

As usual my Sister was busy with her Cell Phone attending the Call & through out the Aarti she was sitting on a bench next to a shop selling puja articles & speaking to her contact.

I was gazing around the small area with plants & i figured out that it may be the Lendi Baug of this temple. A Small Dhuni structure painted in Orange was visible along with a Swing/ Uyyalla. So the Dhuni along with the Swing formed the Dwarakamai inside this small lendi baug.

I should appreciate the people who utilised this small piece of land & converted it to a small but yet a decent temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. A Small Stage is also installed beside the left side of the temple sanctum & it acts as a Dias for various Spiritual Programs that are conducted on Special Days in the temple.

After the Aarti was completed, i thought that the rush may subside but to my utter dismay the crowd swelled more in numbers after the Aarti & the Archana for individual Sai Devotees commenced with Abhishek to the utsav murthy of Sai Baba, Shiva & Nandi.

I tried to be at peace & called my sister who was till then on phone call to cut her call & to speak to the temple authorities. we tried to search for concerned person but no such person was available.

We strike a deal with a lady, who we thought was a member of the trust. Later we can to know that she was a prompt devotee of Sri Sai Baba & does lot of service for this temple like maintaining the line manner, controlling the crowd etc.

She was very happy to help us after she came to know about our purpose of the visit & she took me from the exit line to have the darshan of Sai Baba. She also instructed the Priest to allow us to take few snaps of Sai Baba for the Article.

It was then that i was able to see the Baba from close quarters & was excited to see that the entire temple sanctum around the Statue of Sai Baba is covered with Silver. A Small but elegantly designed Silver Simhasan covered around the 2ft statue of Sri Sai Baba.

The Statue of Sai Baba was well dressed & well covered with lots of Flower garlands. Flowers are way too expensive in Visakhapatnam but the Small Statue of Sai Baba was entirely covered with various flower garlands & it was a wonderful sight to see baba covered with so much flowers.

After the Darshan, Theerth Prasad & Some Prasad was served. Initially i thought that it was sweet pudding, but later came to know that it was Salted Pongal. But the Prasad was tasty.

After visiting the Sri Sai Baba Dhyana Mandir at Ramakrishna Nagar, we headed towards yet another temple on Akkayyapalem Main Road. We drove back towards Jagga Rao Bridge & took a right turn towards the NH 5 Road Junction. As we proceeded further, this Small temple of Sri Sai Baba was seen towards the left side of the main road next to the Milk Booth Junction.

A very Small Road Side temple for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was built below a huge Banyan tree & was inaugurated on Sri Rama Navami Day in April 1992. Usually Auto & Rickaw drivers were the one who used to perform Puja's in this temple.

As the years passed by & as the temple started gaining popularity, more & more Sai Devotees flocked towards this Sai Baba temple. The temple was Repaired & the Roof of the temple below the Tree was covered with Aluminium sheet so that the branches don't fall on top of the temple gopuram & on devotees.

A Gurusthan, Dwarakamai & Dhuni was installed in the space available to the left of the temple sanctum. During 2000, a Land was acquired on the street next to the temple with the intension of building a big temple. But the People who have been visiting the temple regularly opposed to the same idea of shifting the temple Premises.

So Dhyan Mandir cum Kitchen/Dining Hall was constructed & is opened to Public for Bhajans, Spiritual Discourses & During Anna Dhan programs on thursdays & other special Days. The temple kept on growing & in between there were issues within the group & one group split from this group & has built a temple with similar trust name further ahead on Akkayyapalem main road near to the NH 5 Junction.

Daily Sheerabishek & Weekly Pancha Mrutha Abhishekam is performed on thursdays to the main diety in the temple. Puja, Abhishek, Archana & Aarti are performed daily in the temple.

During Guru Pournima Day, 250kg Rice/ Anna Abhishek was performed to the 2ft Statue of Sri Sai Baba at the temple premises. Every thursday as many as 1000 Sai Devotees visit this temple & get the blessings of Sri Sai Baba.

Highlights of this Temple:

2. This Temple was inaugurated on Sri Rama Navami Day in Apr 1992 & a 2ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba was installed in the temple Premises. Though the temple is small in size, it attracts lots of Sai Baba Devotees from Around Visakhapatnam, especially on Thursdays & Other Special Days as lot of good things have occured to devotees coming to have the Darshan of Sai Baba in this Road Side Temple.

Daily Sheerabishek & Weekly Pancha Mrutha Abhishekam is performed on thursdays to the main diety in the temple.

A Silver Simhasan has been installed around the statue of Sri Sai Baba. A Small Silver Statue of Sri Sai Baba used as Utsav Murthy, Bronze Statue of Sri Ganeshji & Black Stone of Shiva Lingam is also placed along side the Main Statue of Sri Sai Baba.

3. This Temple has a separate Dhyan Mandir in the road next to the temple. It is opened only on Thursdays & during other events & used as Dhyan Mandir & Dining Hall for Annadanam on Thursdays & other special Days.

Dhuni & Gurusthan has been installed towards the left side of the temple. Dhuni can be visible at the left side entrance of the temple premises.

As this temple has been built below a Huge Banyan tree, the Entire temple is covered with Aluminium Enclosure on top to avoid any branch of the tree falling on top of the temple or devotees.

4. Special Puja, Abhishek, Annadanam, Spiritual Programs, Bhajans & other rituals are conducted during Sankaranthi, Ugadi, Sri Ramanavami, Guru Poornima, Gokulashtami, Vijayadashmi - Sai Baba Punyathithi & Datta Jayanthi.

Sri Shirdi Sai Dhyana Mandir, Market Road, Ramakrishna Nagar, Near Jagga Rao Bridge, Akkayyapalem, Visakhapatnam

Aum Sai Ram.

This is the Fifth Temple on which i'm writing article that I visited during my 17th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Visakhapatnam & Kakinada between 17th July 2013 till 26th July 2013.

This is the 4th temple to be visited at Visakhapatnam under the Pilgrimage Series for my Sai Photo Blog.

After our visit to Sri Shirdi Sai Dhyana Mandir at New Railway Colony, we returned home as it was around 1pm. We had lunch, took a quick power nap & got up again to start our pilgrimage to visit other temples of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in & around Visakhapatnam.

My Sister was kind enough to prepare a Decent Cup of Tea. Having drunk that i got enough energy to sustain for next 2 - 3 hrs & we headed straight on the Akkayyapalem Main Road where there are around 3 Sai Baba Temples.

The First temple on that road from Dondaparthi Area was this temple at Sri Rama Krishna Nagar on the Market Road. A Small Bridge Named as Jagga Rao Bridge built above a sewer canal is the land mark for this temple.

We took a right turn before the Jagga Rao Bridge & entered the Market Road of Rama Krishna Nagar. There was a Vegatable as well as Meat Market towards the Left side of the Road & we had to go ahead on the same direction. After travelling for around 100mtrs, this Small but beautiful temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was visible towards the Left hand side of the Road.

As said, though a small temple, it was very beautifully built & the main highlight of this temple is the arch in front of sri sai baba where brass covering has been fixed & it looks like a replica to the gold Arch behind the Main Statue of Sri Sai Baba at Samadhi Mandir in Shirdi.

Due to this Arch, it attracts lots of Sai Baba Devotees from in & around visakhapatnam. Sanctums for Ganeshji & Dattatreya are installed towards the left & right side in front of the statue of Sri Sai Baba. 2 Paduka's are also installed in front of the statue.

A Silver Simhasan covering the statue of Sai Baba looks really gud & Baba's Sanctum looks very rich & Serene.

A Statue of Sarpa Raja - Snake god has been installed behind the left side of the temple complex below the banyan tree. Baba's Gurusthan with Neem tree has been installed behind the right side of the temple. Dhuni has been installed on the right front side of temple & has been kept burning since the temple was inaugurated.

Regular Puja, Abhishek, Aarti, Annadan, Bhajans & other cultural programs are conducted in the temple premises. On the Occasion of Guru Pournima, we were lucky to visit & have the glimpse of the Alankar of Sri Sai Baba. Bhog consisiting of Sweets, Fruits & Food where decorated in front of Sai Baba. Palki utsav was on its way & it was totally crowded. Around 200 people were waiting in queue to have the darshan of Sri Sai Baba. We couldn't click snaps on the Guru Pournima Day, but the alankar was one of its kind & it attracted me a Lot.

A Silver Simhasan has been installed around the statue of Sri Sai Baba. The Arch in front of the Sai Baba's Statue has been covered with Brass & maintained well. When a Devotee is seeing the Sanctum from the road, they will get a feel of the Real Samadhi Mandir at Shirdi.

3. This Temple has the Sanctums of Sri Vinayaka & Sri Dattatreya installed towards the left & right side in front of Sri Sai Baba.

On Reaching this temple, I felt so happy as it was quite big, quite spacious & also looked very neat & well maintained with very Gud Painting etc. We headed Straight towards the first floor of the temple complex where the newly installed 5.5ft Black Granite Statue of Sri Sai Baba is present.

I got the Opportunity to visit this temple again on 22nd July 2013 during the Guru Pournima with my Aunty & got the blessings of Sri Sai Baba. Though it was raining heavily on Guru Pournima at Visakhapatnam, Lot of Sai Devotees had gathered in the evening for the Bhajan & Palki Utsav.

Close to around 3000 Sai Devotees were fed with Prasad meals after the Mid Day Aarti at the temple Premises.

After visiting the Famous Sai Baba Mandir at East Point Colony, we headed towards M V P colony in search of the Next Sai Baba Mandir. As my Brother in Law had already visited this temple before few weeks with regard to some personal work in that locality, it was easy for us to locate the same easily.

It is basically a Temple for Sri Siddi Vinayaka, Sri Mukteshwara, Parvati Devi, Bhakta Anjaneya Swamy & Kala Bhairava. It was established in 1982.

On 27th November 1996 the Main Statue of Sri Sai Baba was installed at Sai Baba's Sanctum. Dwarakamai & Dhuni was installed along with the Statue of Sai Baba.

12 Jyothir Linga replica Shiva Statue was installed in the temple Premises on 29th January 2007.

We had the Darshan of Sri Baba at his sanctum & at Dwarakamai. As it was a thursday, there was a decent crowd of Sai devotees visiting the temple. Some Prasad consisting of a sweet, biscuit & vegetable rice was given to one & all devotees along with theerth prasad.

We then visited the Sanctums of Ganesh, Mukteshwar, Parvati, Kala Bhairava, Anjaneya, 12 Jyothir Linga. I was able to meet the Vice President of the temple association, Sri M P Satya Kumar, a Retired gentle from Andhra University here at Visakhapatnam & he told he lot of facts & other important information on how the baba's statue was installed etc.

It was a nice conversation or rather a satsang of its kind while sharing our life experience with each other. After the Meeting, As it was getting late for my brother in law, we headed back home.
