This is the 5th Temple visited by me during my 8th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Chennai on Friday 23rd Sep 2011.
My 8th Pilgrimage at Chennai Started with a Visit to:
This temple of Sri Sai Baba has been built at Jai Shankar Street in West Mambalam. It is around 1km from Mambalam Suburban Railway Station & Thyagarayanagar Bus Stand. The Nearest Landmark to this temple are Panigraha Marriage Hall & Bajaj Authorised Service Centre.
Late Smt. Visalakshi Ammal has been instrumental in building this temple of Sri Sai Baba.
This temple was Inaugurated & Prana Prathistha was performed on 31st Aug 2007. A 5.5ft marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba was procured from Mumbai & has been installed in this temple.

Highlights of this Temple
1. Late Smt. Visalakshi Ammal was a Sai Devotee from her early 30's. After her husband's death at a very young age, she suffered a lot. She would always chant Sai's Namam & started worshipping Sai Baba. A Small sanctum of Sai Baba was kept at her home & Sai Devotees were encouraged to perform Bhajan & Puja to Sai Baba on Thursdays. It later started as a Bhajan Mandali & Annadanam was performed in Small Level.
2. At the Age of 83, with the Support from Devotees, she purchased a Land to build a Sai Mandir as Baba had told in her dream that he would come to stay with her. It was all due to Visalakshi Ammal that this temple was built.
3. Late smt. Visalakshi Ammal was also instrumental in building one more temple at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
4. After her death in 2003, the Bhajan Mandali continued performing programs & started collecting funds towards building the temple.
5. In 2006 a Trust by the name of "Shri Shirdi Sai Seva Samaj" was registered & the temple foundation stone was laid.
6. By the Grace of Sri Sai Baba, with in 9 Months Sai Baba's Temple was Constructed & on 31st Aug 2007 Sai Baba Vigraha & Prana Prathitha along with Temple Inauguration was performed Successfully.
7. A 5.5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba was procured from Mumbai & has been Installed in this temple. A Silver Raja Simhasan has also been installed in this temple for Sai Baba.
8. A Small Marble Statue of Ganeshji has also been installed to the left of Baba's Sanctum. A Marble Statue of Late. Smt. Visalakshi Ammal is also insalled to the right side of Baba's Sanctum.
9. Ganesha Homam is performed daily at 6:30am. Annadanam is provided to around 100 Devotees at 11:30am daily. Vishnu Sahasranamam & Archana are performed at 6:30pm daily after Dhoop Aarti. On every thursday Sai Bhajans are performed at 7:45pm. Palki Utsav is performed after the Bhajan.
10. Shiva's Pradosha Kala Puja is performed at 4:30pm on both the Trayodashi. Ganesha's Sankastha hara Chauthi is performed at 6:30pm. Sathya Narayana Puja is also performed on all the Pournima at 4:30pm. It is said that during one of the Satya Narayana Puja, Baba appeared standing behind the Aarti that was performed at the end of the puja.
11. Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punya Thithi & Prathista Day(31st Aug) is celebrated in this temple in a Very Grand Way.
12. Annadanam for 3000 Devotees are performed on Special Days. Annadanam is also provided at Orphanages & Old Age Homes.
13. During Navaratri, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Ashtothara Archana & Bhajans are performed. Classical Programs are performed by Sai Devotees visiting this temple.
14. Meditation Hall has been built on the First Floor. Old Panchaloha Idol if Sai Baba has been installed here & puja's are performed daily morning. Sai Satcharita & Guru Charithra parayan is encouraged in this temple by Placing Books in Meditation Hall for Sai Devotees to read & get the blessings of Baba.
15. Dhuni has been Installed behind the temple & Gurusthan has been installed in the front of the temple towards the left of the entrance where a Neem tree had grown before.
16. The Trust has made sure that they will never go out with receipt book to collect donations for the temple. Hundi is also not placed in the temple premises & Sai Devotees interested in donating any money can do so & get the receipt for the same at the temple office.
17. A Small book Stall with Sai Baba's Literature has also been opened inside the temple to benefit Sai Devotees.
18. Education, Medical Support & Assistance to Poor is provided by the Trust. Around 500 Students are getting Annual Benefits from the Trust. Education Assistance from LKG to Degree is provided in the temple.
19. Leprosy Welfare programs are performed by the trust regularly.
