This is my 12th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Arsikere in Hassan Dist & Tiptur in Tumkur Dist of Karnataka. I Started from my home in Tumkur on Saturday, 11th Feb 2012 at 6:15am. After traveling 100kms by bus, I reached Arsikere at 9:15am & directly went towards this temple of Sri Sai Baba.

This is the 1st of 2 temples visited by me during my 12th Pilgrimage at Arsikere in Hassan Dist of Karnataka. Arsikere is on NH 206 & is at a Distance of around 170kms from Bangalore, 100kms from Tumkur & 110kms from Shimoga. Arsikere is famous for its Coir & Coconut oil Industries. Let us now come towards the temple.
This temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba is 100mtrs from the Arsikere Bus stand Off the B H Road. It is adjacent to the very famous Ayodhya Hotel in Arsikere town.
Late Sri B C Shivanna a Merchant by profession was pulled towards Sri Shirdi Sai Baba & his grace by one of his close friends who was a staunch devotee of Sri Sai Baba & even built a temple of Sai Baba at chitradurga town in karnataka.
He first had a glimpse of Sri Sai Baba at shirdi in the year 1957 & from then onwards his life changed for the good. Sri Shivanna became prosperous due to the grace of Sri Sai Baba & wanted all the people in his hometown to receive the blessings of Sri Sai Baba. Sai Baba Bhajans were conducted at his home on thursdays & people were invited to visit & join them for the Bhajans & Aarti.
In 1960, he decided to build a temple for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba with his own money in the property owned by him. The foundation stone for Temple was laid in the Jan 1961.
On 21st July 1961, A Life Size Portrait of Sri Sai Baba was installed after the completion of the temple & before the arrival of the Marble statue of Sri Sai Baba.
On 14th December 1961 a 5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba Brought from Jaipur was installed & the Prana Prathistha Ceremony was performed.
The Temple was inaugurated by Srishaila Jagadguru Surya Simhasanaadeeshwara Sri Sri Sri. Vageesh Panditharadhya Shivacharya Swamiji a Pontiff from the Lingayut Community in Hinduism.
A Unique German Silver Statue of Sai baba with Japa Mala in his hands along with a Small Silver Statue of Sai Baba is also installed in the temple and Daily Abhishekam is performed to these Statues.
On Thursdays & Special Days, Panchamrutha Abhisheka is performed to the Main Idol of Sri Sai Baba.
A Temple dedicated to Lord Visha Parihareshwara( Lord Shiva) along with Black Stone Nandi has been installed to the right hand side inside the temple Complex.
A Rangamantapa/ Stage has been built opposite to Saibaba Temple inside the temple complex where cultural events, Satsangs & Bhajans are performed during Special Days.

Sai Bhajans are performed on thursdays from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm by Sai Devotees.
Special Puja's are performed on Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi & Ugadi.
On Shivaratri all the 4 Yama puja & Abhishekam are performed to Vishaparihareshwara and Saibaba through out the Night.
Temple Anniversary is celebrated on Margashira Shudda Sapthami Day of every year. Palki Utsav and Annadanam are performed on this day. Special Cultural Programme are also held in the evening. Fruit Distribution to patients is done on Anniversary Day of the Temple at Nearby hospitals.
Kartika Deepotsava is also performed in the temple. After visiting this temple & also speaking to Sri B S Saikrupa the President of this temple, I headed back towards Tiptur to visit the next Sai Baba temple of this Pilgrimage.
