Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram, Chinnakasi Revu, Nidadavolu. West Godavari Dt. Andhra Pradesh.

This is the 4th Temple visited by me during my 13th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Rajahmundry on Tuesday, 20th Mar 2012.


As Said in my previous Article, I covered various Sai Baba temple in between but I'm putting the article on this temple as i'm covering area wise to benefit Sai Devotees who would be interested in making such Pilgrimages to Sai Temples on the Route given by Me.

Nidadavolu Town in West Godavari Dist is around 18kms from Rajahmundry & 14 kms from Kovvur. There are 4 temples of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in this Small town & this is the 1st temple visited by me on Tuesday 20th Mar 2012.

Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram at Chinnakasi Revu is near to the Railway Tracks near to Nidadavolu Railway Station & one has to cross the tracks to reach the temple. The Actual road towards the temple is round about & one has to cross the Railway gate heading towards Tadepalligudem & take a Left turn immediately after the gate to reach this temple.

This temple is in the Banks of Godavari Canal that flows behind this temple. Chinna Kasi Revu is a place with cluster of temples.

Foundation Stone to Build a temple for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was laid on 13th March 1994 & the Vigraha & Prana Prathistha Ceremony was performed on 31st Aug 1994.

A 5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba along with Pancha Loha Utsav Murthy of Sri Sai Baba, Sri Ganesh & Nagaraja (Subramanya as Snake God) are installed in the temple premises.

Daily Abhishek & all the 4 Aarti's are performed regularly. On Thursdays Special Puja is performed & Bhajans are performed in the evening after the Dhoop Aarti.

Special Puja & Annadanam is performed on Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi & On Temple Anniversary Day held during the Dussehra. Large No of Sai Devotees gather here to perform Palki Seva & Satsangs during the festival season.

Baba's Dhuni has been installed next to the River banks & Agni has been maintained from the day the temple has been build. A Black Granite Statue of Shiva is also installed in the temple premises.

Sri Seetha Rama Anjaneya, Sri Shirdi Sai Mandiram, 19th Ward, Near Gaddi Rayadu Hospital, Kovvur, West Godavari Dist. Andhra Pradesh.

This is the 3rd Temple visited by me during my 13th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Rajahmundry on Thursday, 15th Mar 2012.






As I had missed seeing this temple on 14th March along with the other two temples at Kovvur, I started early on 15th March 2012 towards Kovvur to see & complete all the temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in Kovvur Village.

This temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba along with Sri Seetha Rama Anjaneya located at 19th Ward of Kovvur Village was inaugurated on 24th March 2008. This temple is near to Gaddi Rayadu Hospital & Junior College.

A 5ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba along with Marble Statues of Sri Rama, Seetha, Laxman, Anjenaya, Sri Ganesh & Dattatreya are installed in the temple Sanctum. Pancha Loha Utsav Murthy of Sri Sai Baba is also installed in the temple sanctum.

Daily Abhishek, Aarti are performed in the temple. Special Puja's are performed on THursdays. Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi, Ugadi are celebrated grandly in this temple.

An Old Lady is taking care of the Puja Rituals along with the Brahmin Priest here. She is able to recite all the mantra's at Par & was a highlight at this temple.

After seeing this temple, I returned back to Rajahmundry Town to see other Sai Baba Temple. On 20th March 2012, I again went via Kovvur to Visit some more Sai Baba Temples in Nidadavolu & Alampur Village in West Godavari Dist.

So i would be writing articles on those temples before coming back to the temple visited by me at Rajahmundry. This way Sai Devotees planning to make use of full day to visit Sri Sai Baba temples in & around Kovvur & Nidadavolu can complete their trip.

Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Sannidi, Dr.Anangpaul Street, Kovvur. West Godavari Dist.

This is the 2nd Temple visited by us during our 13th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Rajahmundry on Wednesday 14th Mar 2012.

My 13th Pilgrimage at Rajahmundry Started with a Visit to:
Sri Sundara Sai Baba Mandiram, Goshpada Kshetram, Kovvur.

Sri Tetalli Seetha Ram popularly called as Sai Ram in Kovvur arrived in Kovvur on Work as a School teacher before 8 years. He has been a staunch devotee of Sri Sai Baba from 1990's & always wanted to build a Sanctum to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba.

Not So financially strong to build a temple of his own, he started a Sannidi/ Sanctum for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba at his home in Kovvur in 2004. Both the Husband & wife due to Baba's wishes started showing interest in Baba's Seva & started this sanctum. A Small 2ft Statue of Sri Sai Baba was installed along with various potraits & bronze statue's of Sri Sai Baba.

Daily Puja is performed like in temple & Abhishek, Puja & Aarti are performed to Sai Baba.

Highlights of this Sanctum
1. This Sanctum of Sri Sai Baba was started in 2004 to Spread the Grace of Sri Sai Baba.

2. Regular Puja & Aarti are performed here as performed in a temple.

3. Bhajans, Satsang & Palki Seva are performed on all the Thurdays & special days of Sri Sai Baba.

4. Sri Rama Navami is performed very grandly & Anna Abhishekam is performed to the Statue of Sri Sai Baba. Around 1500 devotees are fed the Prasad Meals.

5. For Guru Pournima Sheerabishekam with 108 Ltrs Cow Milk & Pushpa Abishekam is performed to Sri Sai Baba. Around 1000 Sai Devotees participate in various programs on the day & Annadanam is performed. Palki Ustav is performed around the village to Mark this event.

6. On Sai Punyathithi Udi Puja is performed in the Morning & Kumkumarchana in the evening. All the 9 Days of the Dusehra are performed very grandly.

7. Foundation Stone to Build a Temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba has been laid recently during Sankaranti 2012 & the work to build the temple will commence shortly.

This is my 13th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Rajahmundry & Surrounding Towns/ Villages in East & West Godavari Dists of Andhra Pradesh.

Temples Visited During my 12th Pilgrimage at Arsikere & Tiptur:
Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandira, Sainatha Road, Arsikere, Hassan Dist.

As i was busy with my personal Work, I could not concentrate much or visit temples of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in between. Thank you Blog Readers & Subscribers for waiting patiently & allowing me to complete my work & Solve my Issues. From now onwards you will be receiving Regular Articles on Pilgrimage series performed by me.

I performed this Journey between 13th March - 22nd March 2012 covering a total of 36 Small, Medium, Very Big & Famous temples of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in & around Rajahmundry.

Sai Baba Temples are very famous in Andhra Pradesh & Every Locality/ Street has one temple like Ganeshji temple in Rest of India. Visiting all temples was not possible even though i stayed for around 9 Days. Hope to have missed few temples which will be covering soon.

I would Like to take this Opportunity to thank my Host for the Trip Mrs & Mr. Balakrishna & Family, Rajahmundry who accommodated me for a period of 10 days & Provided me with Transportation to visit Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples in & Around Rajahmundry. I should also appreciate Mrs. Padma Balakrishna's Patience in gathering the Address & required Info before hand & travelling with me to some of the Sai Baba Temples. I would also like to thank Mr. Pavan, An Engineering Student who took a break from his busy schedule & took me to some Sai Baba temples in villages around Rajahmundry.

Now I Start the Actual description of the temple visited by me. I arrived at Rajahmundry Town from Bangalore on 14th March 2012 After traveling for 21hrs covering a distance of 1000kms by Train at 7:45am. After Refreshing, I had some homemade Idli for Breakfast & Started for the temple visit by 10am.

I along with Mrs. Padma Balakrishna planned to visit Sri Sai Baba temples in the surrounding villages & towns first & decided to cover the temples at Kovvur in West Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh.

Kovvur is at a distance of around 5kms from Rajahmundry & after crossing the River Godavari via Rail cum Road Bridge we reach Kovvur Village. This temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba is at the right side once we cross the bridge & go towards Kovvur.

Sri Sundara Sai Dhyana Mandiram has been built at the Goshpada Kshetram on the Banks of the River Godavari. Sri Sai Baba's Sanctum has been built on the first floor of the piller building with the ground floor being kept vacant. Possibility of this area getting flooded due to heavy rains are more & the temple has been carefully built on the first floor.

A 5.5 ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba has been installed in this temple along with 2ft Bronze Utsav Murthy of Sri Sai Baba. Sai Baba's Dhuni has been seperately built to the right of the temple on the first floor of a pillar. A Statue of Dattatreya has been installed in the Sanctum built below the Dhuni.

Highlights of this temple
1. Special Puja, Sheerabishekam & Alankar is performed in this temple on all the Thursdays. 6 kgs Puliyogara is distributed as Prasad to Sai Devotees visiting this temple on Thursdays. Bhajans are performed on Thursdays between 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

2. Daily Annadanam is performed to the Poor & Needy & around 50 people are fed with Prasad meals.

3. On Thursdays Annadanam is performed & 100 people are fed with Prasad Meals.

4. Special Puja, Aarti are performed on Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi & also during temple Anniversary held in Feb of every year on the Vaishaka Shuddha Panchami Thithi. Bhajans, Satsangs & Spiritual Discourses are also performed on these Days. Annadanam is performed & around 2000 Devotees are fed with Prasad meals on these Special Days.

5. Mahanyasaka Purvaka Rudrabishekam is performed to Sri Sai Baba on Sri Rama Navami with 108 Pots of Water Carried for the River godavari which flows behind this temple.

6. Auction of Sai Baba's Vastra is performed on Vijaya Dashami at around 10:00 am.

7. Sri Sundara Sai Spiritual Centre has been formed at Gouthami Centre, Court Street, Kovvur & Free Eye Testing, Glasses & Eye Operations are performed daily from 09:00am - 05:00pm here.

8. Sri Sai Baba Kalyana Mantapam at Nandamuri Road Near Kovvur Bus Stand is under construction & is expected to be completed by Mid of 2012. Plans to provide the Marriage hall at rent for a Subsidized rate is under progress.

9. Most Important & Most unique of all the seva. A Burial Ground has been run under the Sri Sundara Sai Baba Trust & all the Activities including the transportation, Cremation & other Ceremonies are performed at a very Nominal cost of Rupees 1000 to help the Poor & needy to satisfactorily cremate their loved ones.

Sri Rama Navami 2012 Celebrations at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandira, Amar Jyothi Layout, Tumkur.

Sri Rama Navami Celebrations were performed in a very grand way at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Amar Jyothi Layout, Tumkur on 1st April 2012. Being Recently Inaugurated in Febraury 2012 Sri Rama Navami was celebrated in a very Grand Way.

Sheerabhishek, Vastra & Pushpa Alankar to Sri Sai Baba was performed in the morning. Special Puja Archana to Sri Rama were also performed by keeping a Potrait of Sri Rama.

In the Evening Bhajans on Sai Baba & Sri Rama were performed by Temple Artist by around 6:00pm. Later on Palki Procession with Local Drums/Band was performed inside the temple Complex.

Veeragasa a dance folk form prevalent in karnataka was organised to perform before the Palki Procession. Baba's Palki Procession was performed in & around the temple area & returned at night for the Shej Aarti.

A Glimpse of the Sri Rama Navami celebrations has been shared to Sai Devotees.

Sri Rama Navami 2012 Alankar at at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Jayanagar (E), Tumkur.

Sri Rama Navami 2012 was celebrated in a very grand way at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Jayanagar (E), Tumkur. Sri Sai Baba was given Sheerabishek followed by Vastra Alankar. Special Puja & Archana was performed to Sri Sai Baba & Sri Rama.

Panaka(Fruit Juice) puja was performed after the morning Aarti & Sai Devotees were given the juice. In the evening Special Bhajans & Palki Utsav were performed in the temple premises after the evening Dhoop Aarti. Prominent Politicians & Higher Officials were invited for the evening Bhajan program. All the Aarti's were performed during the day & ended with Shej Aarti at 9:30pm.

Prasad was distributed throughout the day to Sai Devotees visiting the temple for this Occasion.

On the Occasion of Sri Rama Navami 2012, Sri Sai Baba was given Sheerabishek followed by Vastra Alankar at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir Trust, Shirdi Sai Baba Nagar, Tumkur.

Discourse on the Importance of Sri Rama Navami festival was given in the evening. All the Aarti's were performed during the day & ended with Shej Aarti at 9:00pm.

Prasad consisting of Sheera & Lemon Rice was distributed to Sai Devotees visiting the temple for the Occasion.

Glimpses of Sai Baba's Vastra Alankar has been shared to Sai Devotees.

Sri Rama Navami 2012 at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir, Tumkur.

Sri Rama Navami Puja was performed at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir on 1st April 2012. Baba's Abhishek, Vastra & Pushpa Alankar followed by chandan utsav was performed in the morning. Special Puja to Sri Rama was also performed by keeping a Potrait of Sri Rama, Seetha, lakshman & Hanuman.

In the evening Panak(Fruit Juice) Puja & Dhoop Aarti was performed to Sai Baba. Palki of Sri Sai Baba was carried in a Procession to the Hanuman temple in the nearby area after the Dhoop Aarti. After the Procession was completed the Palki was brought back to Mandir & Prasad Consisting of Fruit Juice, Motichur Laddu & Lemon Rice was distributed to Sai Devotees present in the temple.

Shej Aarti was performed at around 8:30pm after changing Sai Baba's Attire. This way the Sri Rama Navami Utsav was performed at Tumkur Shirdi for the year 2012.
