Sri Vaidhya Sai Kamakshi Dattatreya Mandir, Rajahmundry

Aum Sai Ram.

This is the Last Article that was penned by Mrs. Padma Karunakaram during February 2012 but was never posted as the details for the same never reached me till date. After completing all my articles on Pilgrimage series, I thought that it would be the right moment to complete this long pending article by collecting the data related to this temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba that Mrs. Padma visited.

Sri Vaidhya Sai Kamakshi Dattatreya Mandir was built by its founders Smt. Anusuyamma & Sri. Vavilala Narasimha Swamy & Inaugurated on 10th February 1989. A 2ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba with the statues of Dattatreya, Ganeshji & Sri Kamakshi Devi are installed in this temple Premises.

Being a Govt School Teacher, Sri Narasimha Swamy took voluntary retirement in 1985 & came to Rajahmundry to start spreading the Grace of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. He started Sri Sai Prarthana Samaj & performed daily abhishek to Sri Sai Baba along with 108 Sai Nama Japam, Lalitha Sahasranamam & Vishnu Sahasranamam.

With the Grace of Sri Sai Baba a Temple Sanctum with a Statue of Sri Sai Baba was installed in their Home on 10th february 1989. The Daily Sai Nama Japam with chanting of Lalitha & Vishnu Sahasranam Continued till 1995 when on the Night of 14th April 1995, Akshatha fell on top of Mrs Anusuyamma at night. She Just Ignored & thought it to be a Accident of some sort & left it as it is.

On 15th April 1995, It was seen tht Sai Baba feet in the Statue being covered with the Udi. Both mrs & Mr. Narasimha Swamy didn't beleive & just continued with their daily rituals of Sai Nama Japam & Chanting. within 19 days the complete statue got covered with Udi & 1000's of Sai Devotees from all over Rajahmundry, East Godavari Dist & through out the state started visiting this temple. Even the Media & New Papers published articles related to this Miracle of Sri Sai Baba.

Sri. Narasimha Swamy was very scared with the phenomena & the crowds visiting Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. He requested baba to stop the udi, So that he can be an Humble servant of Sai Baba & not fall prey to popularity or other worldly things.

Patients started visiting the temple & the Udi has a Miracle cure to all their Ailments. Hence the Name Sri Vaidhya Sai was given to this temple. Later on A Statue of Dattatreya & Sri Kamakshi was installed in the temple premises.

Sri Kamakshi fulfills all the desires of the Devotees visiting this temple & Nithya Nuthana Seri Ceremony is being performed to Kamakshi Amma for the past 5 years & Daily a New Saree is being work by Devi that is gifted to her by Devotees.

All the 4 Aarti's are performed regularly on daily basis in this temple premises. Sri Rama Navami, Guru Pournima, Sai Punyathithi, Vijayadasami is celebrated grandly in this temple.

A 11 Days Special Puja is performed in the temple which commences of the Vijaya Dasami Day & last for 11 Days. Annadanam is performed on all the 11 days & around 8000 Sai Devotees are fed with Prasad Meals during these 11 days of Ceremony.

Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Universal Prayer Hall, Saligramam, Chennai.

Aum Sai Ram.

This is the only Temple visited by me during my 14th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Chennai on Thursday, 07th June 2012.

During my stay at chennai, i managed to visit this temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba with my Paternal Uncle who stays near to this temple at Venkateshwara Nagar, Saligramam.

A 4ft Marble Statue of Sri Sai Baba along with Panchaloha Statue of Ganeshji & Potraits of Gods, Goddess & Guruji's from different Religions are installed in this Premises.

The Foundation Stone for the Prayer Hall along with Sai Baba Temple was laid on 29th Sep 1990 & the Hall was inaugurated on 29th July 1999. This Place is more or less a Prayer Hall. It doesn't beleive in Idol Worship.

Though Initially built as Sai Mandir, the President of the trust feels that Sri Sai Baba being a Human shouldn't be treated at par to a God & Worshipped.

The President of the Trust says that accidentally a Statue of Sri Sai Baba was placed in this Universal Prayer Hall & there are plans to shift the statue out side the Hall in the Garden Area in a Shrine Temple.

This Hall well be kept empty without any Idol or Photo's & allowed as a Place of Worship to people from All Religion, Caste & Creed.

There are no Daily Abhishek, Archana, Aarti or Puja & there is no concept of Purohit or any Puja in the Premises. Devotees can come here & just pray.

The Place of Worship is maintained by Stree Seva Sangh & it is also maintaining Rehabilitation home to the destitute woman, Schools, Colleges, Engineering Colleges etc in & around the Saligramam Area.

So Sai Devotees are requested not to get confused with the name of the Prayer Hall which is kept as Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Universal Prayer Hall. But to visit this place only for meditation purposes. Do Not expect regular Puja, Prasad, Archana or anything.

Also It is advisible to think before making any donation towards any Religious Practices as this place doesn't perform any rituals of any sort & doesn't entertain any Puja or Rituals. People can Meditate & get clarity of this Life by coming here during the Hall Opening Hours.

This is not a Negative comment or I'm not Defaming any place. It is my opinion as a Sai Devotee that Sai Devotees visiting this place shouldn't expect any thing related to Baba or other Religious Practices.

I'm now sharing few Snaps of the Statue of Sri Sai Baba that has been placed & also the alankar done by Sai Devotees visiting this place regularly on a Thursday.

Sri Shirdi Sai Ram Mandiram, Raja Nagar, East Godavari Dist. Andhra Pradesh.

Aum Sai Ram.

This is the 34th Temple visited by me during my 13th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Rajahmundry on Friday, 16th Mar 2012.

I would also like to share a very Special moment of my life today. This is the 100th Temple of Sri Sai Baba about which i'm writing this article.

It all started as a small Personal temple Pilgrimage to some temples of Sri Sai Baba on 26th June 2010 at Bangalore Rural. Initially after penning around 1000+ Articles on different topics in my Shradha Saburi Blog, I found it to be more interesting to share snaps & details of Different Temples of Sai Baba & in visiting the temples of Sri Sai Baba for my Personal Peace of Mind & started taking snaps using a normal Digital Camera.

In October 2010, I purchased a better camera & again started visiting temples of Sri Sai Baba & to take the snaps & write articles on the same.

I wish to go for a Professional DSLR camera Soon to share even better Snaps of Sri Sai Baba to all the devotees here. Of the 400+ temples visited by me in the past 2+ years, I was permitted to take details from 100+ temples only. So i'm completing my 100th Article out of my 13 Pilgrimages to Sri Sai Baba Temples in South India.

I Ask Sai Devotees to help me by inviting me to temples in their town/city & also to help me cover as many temples as possible & to write articles on the same in the coming months.

I thank one & all Sai Devotees, Temple Committee Members for allowing me to take Snaps, write article on the same & publish it in many Magazines, Online books & here at Sai Photo Blog
