New Year 2012 Celebrations at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir, was well planned & executed to the best of the Ability. As the temple had already created a record of performing 2011 ltrs Milk Abhishek in 2011, the Founders Mrs & Mr. Ashok Raj, Family & Friends wanted to perform a 2012 Ltrs Sheerabhishek to Sri Sai Baba in a More Professional Manner.
Large 1000ltrs Water tank, Jet Pumps to Shower the Milk & Pumps to drain the Milk to the Containers were planned, installed, tested & worked successfully through out the Sheerabishek Ceremony. Now let us have a Glimpse of the Actual program by reading the Complete Summary of the New Years Day at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir.
The New Year's Day 2012 at Tumkur Shirdi - Sri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandir also popularly called as Euro School Sai Baba Mandir Started at 5:15am with Kakad Aarti to Sai Baba. Sri Chandrashekar Baba, the Chief Mentor & Guruji of this temple & also the Founder of Sri Sai Seva Shakti(R), Mysore conducted the Morning Aarti. By 6:00am after completion of the Aarti, Baba was prepared for the Mega event of the Day & Guruji after taking Baba's Permission for Sheerabishekam gave Rose Water Bath to Baba.
After completion of the Water Bath, Milk Abhishekam commenced at 6:15am & Sri. Chandrashekar Baba completed the First Abhishekam to Baba after Completing the Rituals.
By 6:30 Am Smt. Sumangala Hiremath & Sri. Angadi Hiremath, Sessions Court Judge at Bangalore & a Great Devotee of Sri Sai Baba, Chief Guest for the day, Inaugurated the Abhishekam Ceremony & Sai Devotees were asked to come in turn to perform Sheerabishekam to Marble Statue of Sai Baba.
Sai Devotees from Various places took part in this event & got the blessing of Sai Baba by performing Abhishekam. Proper Arrangement was made to control the Queue line & a very long Platform was installed around the Samadhi for devotees to come in line towards the Statue of Sri Sai Baba.
A Bunch of Sai Devotees, Members of this temple volunteered in arranging the Queue line & also helping with storing the Milk into 1000 Ltrs tank that was to be donated to children at Sri Siddaganga Mutt.
By 8:30am Rava kesari/ Sheera, Puri Sabzi & Badam Milk was provided for Morning Breakfast to all the Sai Devotees coming out of the Abhishekam.
Baba was given Milk Bath till 10:45 Am. It was around 4 Hrs that Baba took Milk Bath Continuously. Due to Sai Devotees bringing in Milk continuously for the Abhishekam it became a Never Ending Process.
A Total of
3600+ litres of Milk was used to perform the Abhishekam as per the final records that was maintained to track the inflow of Milk. It was milk every where. Though Sri Ashok Raj Planned for only 2012 Litres, More & More devotees started getting Milk for the Abhishek. The final total came to 3600+ Ltrs of Milk.
All the milk stored after the Abhishekam was successfully utilised for a very good cause. Around 1000 Litres of Milk was donated to Children studying in Siddaganga Mutt. Siddaganga Mutt is a Very Famous Mutt in the Vicinity & supports children from various back grounds by providing free education & accommodation. Around 11,000 Children are given free education, food & accommodated in various Hostels which are inside the Siddaganga Mutt Campus. Milk was donated to the Mutt after receiving the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Shiva Kumara Swamiji, the Pontiff of the Mutt.
Around 500 Litres of Milk was utilised to prepare Badam Milk & Kheer which was served as Prasadam to all the Sai Devotees visiting the temple for the Madhyan Aarti.
The rest of the Milk was distributed among Sai Devotees visiting the temple & some of the milk was donated to under privileged people in the near by colony.
After the Abhishekam, Baba was dressed up for the Madhyan Aarti. Meanwhile Sri. Chandrashekar Baba unveiled a New Photo Frame of Sai Baba & gifts were given to Sai Devotees regularly visiting this temple.
At 12 Noon, After Baba's Vastra & Pushpa Alankara, Naivaithya was performed & Madhyan Aarti commenced. Bisibele Bath/ Sambar Rice & Kheer was served to Sai Devotees as Prasad after the Madhyan Aarti.
Sai Baba's New Year Ceremony was relayed Live from 9:00am till the Noon Aarti in 3 Districts of Karnataka by the Local Cable Channel - Ammogh.
In the Evening Classical Bhajans of Sri Sai Baba were performed by Smt. Saraswati Murthy & group between 5:45pm - 8:30pm. Sai Baba Bhajans in Kannada on Various topics related to Sai Baba's Samadhi Mandir, Chavadi Procession, Dwarakamai, Udi Importance, 11 sayings of Sai Baba & Sai Ashtotharam were performed & it was a real delight to hear to her mesmerising voice.
Palki Utsav took place at around 6:30 pm with in the temple complex & Smt. Saraswati Murthy sung bhajans on Palki & Chavadi utsav to Mark the event.
After completion of Palki Utsav, the Bhajans commenced again & the Dhoop Aarti was performed. Naivaithya consisting of Vegetable Rice & Salad were kept to Baba. After the Dhoop Aarti, the Prasadam counter commenced & Sai Devotees eager to go back to home early left by collecting the Prasad.
After the Completion of Bhajans at 8:30pm, the Singers were felicitated with Momento & Shawl. Baba's Alankar was removed & Baba was dressed up again in White Satin for the Shej Aarti. Shej Aarti was performed by 8:45pm. Lullaby on Baba was sung during the Shayan Utsav at 9:15pm. Baba's Prasad was given to Sai Devotees present for the Shej Aarti. This way the New Year 2012 Ceremony was successfully performed in the temple Premises on Sunday, 1st Jan 2012.
Around 2500 Sai Devotees from Tumkur & around 250 from Bangalore attended New Year Celebrations & made it a grand success.
The Program was well covered by the Press & around 15 regional Newspapers displayed article about the Celebrations with Colour Photo on 2nd Jan 2012.

Some Highlights of this temple
1. This temple was Inaugurated & opened to Sai Devotees on 3rd March 2009.
2. All the Five Aarti's of Sai Baba are performed as per Shirdi Sansthan Guidelines.
3. Baba's Dress is changed 3 times in a Day as per Shirdi Guidelines. Once in the morning after the Abhishekam. Then in the evening before Dhoop Aarti. Then At Night before the Shej Aarti.
4. Temple Anniversary is conducted between 03rd March - 05 March.
5. There is a Special Aarti, Abhishek, Puja, Palki Utsav on all the Thursdays & Sundays.
6. Ram Navami, Guru Poornima, Baba Punya Thithi, Dussehra, Diwali & New Year/Ugadi are celebrated in the temple in grand Scale.
7. Yearly Trip to shirdi is organised by the temple Authorities & it is a grand success with around 500+ Sai Devotees taking part in the Annual Event.
8. Special Puja are performed on request.
9. Vahana Puja is performed on all Days during the temple working hours.
