Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Kodigehalli, Bangalore.

Aum Sai Ram

This is the third temple visited by me as part of my 3rd piligrimage to Sai Temples in Bangalore on 10th October 2010.

This Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Kodigehalli, is a very old & traditionally Maintained Temple in this area. The priest follow the Tirupati Style of Puja at the Sanctum. If we closely observe the Temple inner design, we can find out that it is done as per traditional temple design. A Garba Griha where the Marble Statue of Sai Baba has been Installed. A Passage way between the Garba Griha & the corridor, where only priest & people in traditional Dress are allowed. Then the general Hall where in all Devotee can stand & pray to Sai Baba.

This Sai Baba Temple is near to Raj Murali Theatre at Kodigehalli & around 1.5 kms from the Bellary Road connecting between Hebbal & Devanahalli. When Approaching from Hebbal Fly over, one has to turn towards the left after hebbal fly over into kodigehalli road.

Baba looks quite Happy & contented here. He was smiling at all the Sai Devotees coming inside the temple. There is a Meditation Hall/ Dhyana Mandira in the first floor of the building.

Statue of Nandi along with Paduka of Shirdi Sai Baba can been seen in front of Sai Baba Statue in the main hall. Also one can see 2 Turtle Shaped Stones facing Sai Baba. As the temple is following the vaishava type of Puja, Turtle kept in front of Lord is considered to be Auspicious.

Small statue of Ganesha, Shiva & Hanuman are installed next to the kalpavrisha tree in the temple premises. There is a Dhuni placed near to the idols.

A Small shop with in the temple complex caters to the needs of Sai Devotees & sells Puja Articles, Spiritual Books, Cds & Laminated Photo Frames of Shirdi Sai Baba.

Shirdi Sai Mandira, Yelahanka New Town, Bangalore.

Aum Sai Ram

As said earlier in my previous article, I successfully completed my 3rd Piligrimage to Sai Temples on 10th Oct 2010.

After visiting the Sai temple at Avalahalli, I came back towards Yelahanka New Town where i had visited a Sai Baba Temple near to Mother Dairy Bus Stop on the previous Day. But as the temple was closed during my visit, I planned to visit it again today.

I came to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Yelahanka New town by 8:45am & the Morning Abhishekam was just completed. Baba was dressed in a Wonderful White Dress & was wearing garland made of Rose & Jasmine. The First Glimpse at the Statue of Shirdi Sai brought about Happiness & Satisfaction that i finally visited this temple after missing it many times due to traveling to this Area at the Odd Hours.

I am a regular visitor to Yelahanka New town where my Sister Stays & when ever i'm staying back at bangalore, I come Late in the evenings to sleep at her home & then again start back early in the morning. Due to this late arrival & early departure from her home, i could not visit this temple for the past 3 years.

This time, I had planned for a Stoppage at this temple & as decided i completed my Pending task of visiting him here at Yelahanka. This temple is not that big, not so great in structure. But what is it that attracted me to this place?

The Statue. Yes, the Statue of Shirdi Sai Baba. It is a Pancha Loka Statue of Shirdi Sai Baba that has been installed in this temple & also that this temple is almost 20 years old. This temple was build in early 1990's when Yelahanka New Town was designed. Baba looks charming & contented. I was Happy to see him finally & had a great time meditating on him.

Finally i completed my Darshan & received the Thirtha Prasadam. Every where i went, I got 2 biscuits as Prasadam. Here too Baba's Prasad was 2 Marie Biscuits. I just wonder why don't the temple authorities prepare some proper food & feed him instead of feeding him with Biscuits on Daily Basis. I took some Snaps of Sai Baba in this temple & sharing the same with all Sai Devotees. Sai Devotees in Bangalore can visit him some time to get his blessings.

Temple Highlights
The temple Bhoomi Pooja was performed in the year December 2003.

The temple was inaugurated on 23rd December 2003 by Sri.N.S.Anantha Ramu, who translated the abridged version of Original Sai Satcharitra from Marathi to Kannada Language.

A beautiful Pancha Loha Idol of Shirdi Saibaba weighing about 83 Kgs and height about 3 feet is present in the temple. A small marble Idol of Shirdi Saibaba is also present and is used for Daily Abhishekam. Beautiful Marble Paduka is also present in front of the Pancha Loha Idol of Saibaba.

Temple Features
Archana is performed to Shirdi Saibaba on payment of Rs.5/-.

Abhishekam is performed at 8:30 AM to Shirdi Saibaba on payment of Rs.51/- on all days. Panchamrutha Abhishekam can be performed by devotees themselves to the marble idol of Shirdi Saibaba during festival days on payment of Rs.101/.

Shirdi Sai Baba Mandira, Avalahalli, Dodballapur Road, Bangalore.

Aum Sai Ram

Kindly see the Complete set of 34 Snaps of this temple
before reading the Description of this Temple.

Sai Baba Mandira, Avalahalli, Dodballapur Road, Bangalore

This is my Third Pilgrimage to visit Shirdi Sai Baba Temples. After my successful visits at Bangalore on 27th June 2010 & at Hyderabad on 3rd August 2010, I was Blessed again by Shirdi Sai Baba to visit some more temples of his at Bangalore.

I have the habit of visiting Sai Baba at Shirdi once in every now & then. But Baba wanted me to discover various places of his worship & thus this Pilgrimage to visit some of his temples got started by me. As said, I successfully completed 2 pilgrimage to some Sai Temples in Bangalore & Hyderabad. Kindly check out the details of temple visited at the end of this Article.

I was in Chennai for a family re - union during the 1st week of October, but due to the busy schedule I could not move out to visit Sai Baba. So after coming back to home, I decided to go on my 3rd Pilgrimage to visit some temples in Bangalore.

After initial planning & by Baba's blessings, I came out with some temples at yelahanka, Kodigehalli, Yeshwantpur in Bangalore City Limits.

My Day started early in the morning by 7:00am & the first temple to be visited today was Shirdi Sai Baba Mandira at Avalahalli near Yelahanka. This temple is around 23 kms from Bangalore city & 4 kms from Yelahanka Town. It is on the Dodballapur Road beside BMS Engg. College. Another easiest Landmark to remember will be M H Gowda Indian Oil Petrol Bunk which is just opposite to Sai Baba Temple & is towards the right hand side when travelling from Yelahanka to Dodballapur.

Gopuram in the temple premises is visible from some distance & it is very easy to find out. By the time i reached the temple, the Abhishekam to Baba was completed & Baba was getting dressed. I had to wait till 8:15am to get the first glimpse of Sai Baba.

The temple complex has Seperate entrance each for Shirdi Sai Baba & Sri Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy the 2 residing deities of this temple. There is also a Statue of Ganesha, Subramanya Swami, Dattatreya & Navagraha.

The Marble statue of Sai Baba is really beautiful sitting on a wonderfully designed Simhasan. Sai Baba's Samadhi & Sai Paduka are placed in front of Sai Baba Statue. Baba was dressed in Complete Red & he was looking really cute & handsome. The Back ground wall of behind the Statue is covered with Black Granite & Baba's Image gets reflected like mirror on it.

A Beautifully Hand Crafted Palki of Sai Baba has been placed in front of Baba & the Palki Utsav takes place on Thursday & special Days. Nandi has been placed next to Palki facing Sai Baba.

Prana Pratista of all the Dieties were performed between 24 Oct 2007 to 26 Oct 2007 & the temple was open to Sai Devotees there after.

Special Abhishekam, Alankaram, Aarthi & Puja are performed Daily to Sai Baba & Anjenaya Swamy. There is a Dhyana Mandira/Meditation Hall in the cellar of the Sai Temple. A Beautiful Statue of Sai Baba sitting in Dwarkamai Pose has been placed in the Hall. A Dim Light is kept in the hall & helps people to Meditate on Sai Baba. A Dhuni/ Fire place is placed in the Adjacent building.

Gurusthan with Neem, Kalpavriksha & Oudanbara Tree is in front of the Main temple Entrance & one can see very big tree while entering the temple complex. A Small shop selling puja Articles is in the entrance of the Temple.

There is a frequent bus service to & from Bangalore city to the temple. After visiting this temple, the next temple visited by me was the Yelahanka New Town Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. More on this in my next article.

Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Jayanagar(E), Tumkur - Vijaya Dasami/ Punya Thithi 2010

Aum Sai Ram

Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir at Jayanagar(E), Tumkur Celebrated its 5th Vijaya Dasami/ Punja Thithi on 17th Oct 2010 to Mark the 92nd Punyathithi of Shirdi Sai Baba. Special Abhishekam, Alankar, Palki Utsav, Aarti, Prasadam & Sai Bhajan during the Evening Satsang took Place to mark the event.

The Day started with a Special Abhishekam to Sai Baba. Baba wore a White Rope & the alankaram was minimal. As it was the Punyathithi of Sai Baba, the Sai Devotees in Particular carried pain in their hearts as it was a day of great Loss to them. There was silence most of the morning & people poured in 100's to see the glimpse of Sai Baba in complete white dress. As the Day progressed, Sai Ashtothara Shatanamavali & Madhyan Aarti was chanted to Sai Baba.

As it was a Vijaya Dasami Day, there was a ceremony taking place in this town. All the Temples in the town decorate a Palki with Utsav murthy & send it to the High School ground from where there is a Procession of All the Dieties in & around the Town. A Special Palki was decorated with a Photo Frame of Shirdi Sai Baba & Utsav Murthy on a Tractor. As procession from the field was about to begin at 3:45pm, all the Palki had to be in time for the Procession.

Palki from Sai Baba Temple started at 3:00pm. There were only a handful of people, Mostly Trustee members of Sai Temple, who were organising the event. After the Initial Puja to the Utsav Murthy & chanting Baba's Jay Jay Kar, the Palki started towards the Field.

Then by 4:00pm at the temple, a Special Abhishekam was given to Sai Baba & he was dressed as a King with Jewels & Crown. By 5:30pm the Alankaram got completed & it was a moment of Joy to see Baba in true Colours in Raja Alankaram. At 6:00pm Dhoop Aarti was performed. Bhajan Sandhya, Sai Palki around the temple complex took place later on.

Baba Blessed most of the Sai Devotees in the form of Black Cobra. He came from no where & vanished with in few Minutes during the Bhajan Sandhya.

The Palki around the town returned at 7:00pm with the Utsav Murthy of Sai Baba. He was then kept on the regular palki & palki utsav around the temple took place.

By 8:30pm Shej Aarti was performed & all the Sai Devotees were given Prasadam after the Shej Aarti. As people were coming in from all around the places, the temple was kept open till 10:00pm.

With Baba's Wishes, I'm posting few Snaps taken on the Occasion of Vijaya Dasami 2010.
