Shirdi Saibaba Temple, Shantiniketan Layout, Bangalore.

This is my fourth Pilgrimage to visit Shirdi Sai Baba Temples. After my successful visits at Bangalore on 27th June 2010, Hyderabad on 3rd August 2010 & again at Bangalore on 10th October 2010, I am Blessed again by Shirdi Sai Baba to visit some more temples of his at Bangalore.

I have been visiting various temples of Shirdi Sai for some time now and successfully completed 3 pilgrimage to some Sai Temples in Bangalore & Hyderabad. Kindly check out the details of temple visited at the end of this Article to know more about the temples visited.

I was busy the whole of november & i was not having peace of mind to concentrate or plan for temple piligrimage. On 8th Decemeber 2010 i had to complete some personal work & after lot of planning I finally decided to go on my 4th Pilgrimage to visit some temples in Bangalore.

After initial planning & by Baba's blessings, I came out with some temples at Bannerghatta Road, BTM Layout, Jaya Nagar in Bangalore City Limits. Though there are lot of temples in & around this area, but due to time constraint i was able to cover only 6 temples on 8th & 9th December 2010.

My Day started 2 hours late in the morning by 9:30am & i had to travel almost 90 kms to visit my first temple in Bangalore. I took the NICE Toll road from Tumkur road to Bannerghatta road to visit my first temple at Shanthiniketan Layout, Arekere, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore.

On the way to the Sai temple, i visited the Meenakshi Temple a very famous temple for goddess Meenakshi & Lod Sundareshwarar in this locality.

The first temple to be visited today was Shirdi Saibaba Temple and Sai Dhyan Mandir at Shanthiniketan Layout near Arekere. This temple is around 20 kms from Bangalore city & 2 kms from Arakere Gate Bus Stop. It is on the Bannerghatta Road beside Agri Gold Fortune Flats. Another easiest Landmark to remember will be DLF West End Heights Apartment Complex which is around 2 kms from the Sai Baba Temple. There is a Sign Board on the Bannerghatta Road after Magnolia Maaruthi Public School, towards the left indicating the temple Direction.

Gopuram of the temple is visible from some distance & it is pyramidal in shape. By the time i reached the temple, it was 11am. The Morning Rituals were completed & Baba was getting ready for the Noon Aarti.

The temple complex consists of 2 floors. The ground floor is used as Dhyan Mandir & Baba's Marble Statue is installed in the First Floor. There a Small Sanctum for Lord Ganesha & Goddess Lakshmi & Sarawati in front of the Dhyan Mandir Entrance. On Reaching the first floor by stairs a beautiful Hall with Statue of Shirdi Sai Baba Welcomes all the Sai Devotees inside. The Temple's Unique Pyramidal Dome can been seen from inside the temple & a Huge Golden Chandelier has been placed in the Centre of the Gopuram.

The Marble statue of Sai Baba is really beautiful & has been placed on a Marble Platform. Sai Baba's Paduka are placed in front of Sai Baba Statue. 2 Pancha Loha Statue's of Shirdi Sai Baba are placed next to the main Statue & Sai Devotees are allowed to personally Do the Abhishekam to these Statue's with Water between 9:00 Am - 9:30Am. This Seva has to be booked one Day in Advance for the Temple Authorities to prepare for the Puja.

Sai Baba Was wearing a Beautiful Green Colour dress with a Pink Head Gear on the Day of My visit.

A Temple for Shiva has been built next to the temple of Shirdi Sai Baba & Bhoomi Poojan for building temple for Santhoshi Mata has been completed. Construction work for the same will start by early 2011.

Prana Pratista of all the Deities were performed on Wednesday, 03 Feb 2010. The first pooja was held on Thursday 04 Feb 2010 & the temple was open to Sai Devotees there after.

Special Abhishekam, Alankaram, Aarthi & Puja are performed Daily to Sai Baba & Shiva. I could not visit the Dhyan Mandira as the work is in progress & it is used as Store room for the coming project inside the temple premises.

The Dhuni is also placed in the first floor towards the left hand side of the temple entrance & the Design is totally unique & mind blowing. It is in a Shape of Minaret & Small Fire wood has been put inside for burning & to prepare Udi of Sai Baba.

There is a lot of place around the temple complex with lots of benches & it reminded me of some park rather than a Temple. People can Sit in complete peace & enjoy the greenery all around the temple complex.

There is a frequent bus service to & from Bangalore city towards Bannerghatta. Even Volvo Bus Services are in Huge Nos & it would be comfortable to use public transport to visit this temple. After visiting this temple, the next temple visited by me was near to Honey Well Software on Arakere Road. More on this in my next article.
